Hello,
I've just recently purchased a 2001 Cobra coupe, manual trans with 35k.I have previuosly owned a v6 so this is quite a move up for me.I love the car but am entirely new to the Cobra. The only thing I know is this car is pretty fast and a blast to drive.

Dude, they are all manual from the factory. :D

Welcome aboard, very nice color on that car.

Well, like I said...lots to learn, lol.Ok,now that I've got that down I hope to keep learning. The car has some mods that I know of:cai, upgraded maf,65 mm tb,h-pipe w/flows.It has been tuned with a hypertech programmer.Runs out pretty good.

Well I know it feels good to get out of that V6. When I had mine I had guys in mini vans trying to race me. Man I had guys on bicycles peddling up saying you want some of dis. The cobra cured that problem. Well I'd say take her to the track and decide what you want to do from there.

Depends on your money, mod wise. I'd say do a JLT CAI/RAI first, then a midpipe/catback, then gears
If your unlimted, do all that, then do headers and stuff like that last, just my opinion though

:rlaugh: :stupid:

I can relate. I sold my secretary mustang for my snake & what a difference!Couldn't really compain, the v6 was my dad's and I inherited it after he passed. Damn nice car & dependable as heck. I drove trucks before getting it...though I did have a sweet '85 'stang more than a few years back.

Congrats Stosh

Thanks everyone. One thing I've noticed now....everybody wants to race me.
I haven't had a quick car in many years.I think I need to work on my shifting and all. This is gonna be fun.

Just curious, how high do you rev at launch to get off the line well?

Congrats! I have yet to hear of someone who bought a cobra and didnt love it :)

When i first got down here (new town) everyone and their grandma wanted to race me, everywhere. After I have taken it to the track couple times, most ricers tend to keep away from me or not rev like they used to, coz they have seen my car run. :D

Mine on street tires, i rev it up to 2200 and seems to be the best for me. Oh, I have a 97.
