Anyone Order An 06?

yea so basically my dealer moved my order to an 06, and that meant the color changed from mineral grey to tugsten.. which actually im not that upset about.. i like the color, what i do not appreciate is that we placed the order sometime before april and we still are not going to even see it untill mid november unless ford can spit these things out faster! Now i know the blame should not go on the dealer or anyone. now dont get me wrong this isnt no ford bashing, infact the reason im pissed is because im gonna have to wait an extra 2 months when they told me i would get my 05 gt sometime around late aug. so yea, anyone else have an 05 order that fell through? i dont think there is anything i can do about it but anyone know the expected increase of production units comming from ford next fiscal year? because im 24th of 46 on my dealers waiting list and i want to know aprrox how long my patience will be drug out.

Your dealer would have known the cut-off date at the time you placed your 05 order. Your 05 is being sold to someone else if you ordered before the cut-off date. Car dealers are notorius for doing things like that. Talk to 2 or three other Ford retailers about an 06 order or wait a few months until the factory catches up. You will save thousands once their inventories start to back up. Paying MSRP or any premium at this point in time would be very foolish.

Did the salesman tell you that you had to wait till Nov??
I had the same thing happen to me... My order was moved to the first 06 the dealer gets. The person before me got the last 05. Dealer told me he has been assured of 2 cars in August. He thinks I should see my car late August or Early Sept. I guess it all depends on where you are in the que. I really don't want a new stang in Nov... Nothing like taking delivery in the middle of the great Canadian winter.

I ordered an '06 GT 'vert on June 8 on the X plan. Dealer said I should have it in late Aug. I think this may be a bit optimistic but It'll be worth waiting for. Screaming yellow, IUP, side airbags, 18" wheels, black leather and top. Tick tock!

Same thing happened to me too. I ordered my 05 on 3/10 and was told 8-10 weeks, but I've been lied to and jerked around by the sales manager, the Ford rep, and customer service ever since. I was told recently that my 05 would be changed to an 06, and that I would receive it "sometime in the fall". I guess I got spoiled when I bought my 93 5.0LX and got the exact car I wanted in only 3 DAYS. But considering the Mustang is going to be one of Fords cash cows for the next several years, they could have retooled one of their smaller plants to help supplement Flat Rock, afterall, you have to spend money to make money. I don't blame the dealers or Flat Rock for this fiasco. S--- slides downhill. Bill Jr and the BODs at Ford should have anticipated this demand and met it...avoiding price gouging and pissing people off. Gonna lose some customers over this and this company can't afford it. Anyway, sorry about the rambling. VERY frustrated now, but luckily, my lightly modded 93 keeps taking me from point A to point B everyday, without mishap, as it's clock approaches 180k. Hope you lucky ones are having fun with your new rides . I'm afraid that the dark force that resides at Pontiac will turn me over to dark side at a weak moment...help me Obi-Wan.

Ok guys need some help-we plan to order an 06 to go with our 05, but I heard there are a particular set of wheels that could make our wait much longer when we order our 06??? Anyone have any info on this? I would like to have the car as soon as possible, and do not want to order anything that would cause me to wait until November.

Is it only the GT's that people are having such a hard time getting or is it the V6's too?

Rumour has it that the 18" fanblades are available now, however if you want the rumoured 18" chrome bullets it will not be available until early next year.

As for V6 stangs there are a few more of them around, but with fords new pony package (trying to breath life into the V6) the availability of those may be limited.

My dealer confirmed that the fanblades are available now, no accurate date on the bullets.

I just recived my order number but my dealer said he didnt know the priority. Is the order number different than a dora or should they be on the same form?

ordering my 05 I found out I would not get it until Octboer November So I canceled the order. going to order an 06 but want to take possesion of it in March. Now its just trying to figure out the right time to order it.
