Ok guys, I just picked a 97 Cobra yesterday:

97 Cobra Black/Black(newly aquired)
Procharger P600B,90MM MAF, 30LBs, Dynospeed tune,
Pro 50 shifter, 410s, Dr gas, 2 Chamber flows
D&D tubular K and A arms, Steeda LCAs, FRPP uppers
M/M camber plates
420/435 at the wheels

. I have noticed a few little things that I want to find more about.

As the car decelerates to a stop, the idle will hang @12-1500RPMs for 5-10 seconds, not all the time but it has done it a few times. I am hoping that this is just the Procharger holding up the revs or something. I couldnt find any vacuum leaks so this is my next guess. Any suggestions?

When I am really in it, it will take off HARD then feel like theres no blower for a split second, then pull hard again, then feel like the blower is off, then hard, etc, etc. Someone mentioned belt slippage. I thought these engines had belt tensioners to keep the belt tight or does this change altogether with the blower? I know it is not detonation, misfire, etc because the car was just tuned by a very capable shop and A/F was right where it needed to be. Does slippage sound like the culprit?

I have noticed that the car seems to stay between the M and the A in NORMAL on the temp guage. Is this normal? I have never owned a supercharged car before but I know when I get out, the car is WARM and the engine too. Possible cooling system problem? Also, it seems to rise quicker with the AC on.

Anyway, sorry for the long post but if anyone can shed some light ont his for me, it would be great. I would really love to enjoy my Cobra without constant paranoia that something is wrong. Thanks

Not 100% sure about the first one but I would check the IAC valve. It may be sticking and holding the idle up. Clean that with some carb cleaner or depending on if it's still the original it may need to be replaced ($60 or so).

The second problem could be belt slippage or it could also be the clutch slipping.

Third question. That is a bit on the warm side. Does the S/C have an after or inter cooler? Has the radiator been upgraded?

Does the procharger come with a different tensioner to adjust this belt or what can I do from here? Wouldnt I smell clutch if it was slipping?

The car does have an intercooler, but I dont think the radiator has been upgraded.

Any more ideas?

The procharger should have a tensioner to keep the belt tight. Without the engine running try pulling on the belt and see how lose or tight it feels. If you can stretch it a good bit replace it with one that's a little shorter.

And my clutch has been slipping for awhile now and I couldn't smell it until recently which is why the car is sitting waiting for a new clutch. But anyway, you may not be smelling it yet but the affects are already taking place.

And also I would highly recommend upgrading the radiator. My car stays stuck right on the R in NORMAL no matter how bad traffic is, how hot it is or how bad I beat on it.

What exactly does a clutch slipping feel like? Does it feel like a miss, a hesitation, what?

Your RPM's can rise quickly...usually accompanied by a smell and sometimes a chatter. (watch your speedo, if the RPM's rise and the speed stays the same, it is your clutch)

Another experience I ran into in my old procharged 89 5.0 was that the rpms hung. They didn't rise or fall...it slipped just enough and grabbed just enough...kind of like it was alternating between slipping and grabbing...just made it seem like I was going nowhere.

If it seems like it is missing, it is either fuel or ignition. If you don't have an aftermarket ignition, get one.
