There is a button in the door jam that is connected to the seatbelt. If that button is sticking then they may not roll up on their own. When you open the door it should roll up.

I know on some cars you can rewind the spring, but not on mustangs, at least that I know of.

I have a 5-point harness in my car too. I feel that if it is SFI approved then that better be good enough for the police.

Guys with 5 point harnesses, do you guys have a cage in the car? If not can you post pics of how you installed your 5 point?

You need a cage for it to be legal at the track. The shoulder belts can't exceed 130* from vertical cause they could crush your spine.
My local track is laid-back on tech inspection, so I don't think that’s a problem. The whole spine thing does concern me, since I like my spine the way it is.

Well not so much an entire cage, but a main hoop with a crossbar to mount the harness to. If the belts are mounted below your shoulders it causes a downward force on them. The results are not good. I'm not cirtain on the rules, but maybe someone knows in the race tech section.

My belts don't retract either when the door is closed... but if I open it quick, it reels right back in... when you see a guy driving down the highway doing 75 and he opens his door, you'll know it's me......ha

mine dont retract, like cj said they do if i open my door or.... i'll pull on them..... its the same effect, both driver/passenger side seat belts, they'll get tight... its funny if i get on it though they'll lock/hold tight, then if i stop they'll still be right, so again i'll have to pull on them

Yeah I'd like to see that. I didn't bother getting new replacements for my busted belts since I'm upgrading to harnesses in the future. So the modified 93's will have to work for now.

Haha. x39 Nah, mine might work, I'll check tomorrow. Never had the car on the road yet so I didn't think about it. And if they don't I'll get seatbelts from SN95. I don't think people would look very AWESOME having a 5point harness to remove while going to the local grocery place or wherever. It's like yeah people already know your fast from your flowmaster 1 chambers as you pulled in, no need to wear the 5 point harness too!

Just kidding but seriously, let's all just admit, instead of getting doner foxes we all need doner SN95s in our yard. Use the nice leather seats. The nice WORKING seatbelts, the HIGH output alternators, the highER torqing(sp?) starters, the parts for 5 lug swap, disc brake swap, can we use their electric fans too? and maybe even their radiators? I dunno.

Next person to say "HEY MINE DONT WORK EITHER" Just know that YOU made a difference in the world mr. ILUVSTANGNET983

is it just me or does no one know how to read? Every has the same problem, we know this. We need solutions, not Mine doesn't work x38!
Try WD40 on the windup mechanism. It helps some.
