hey guys, i got my monte carlo bar installed in my 65 coupe. but i have a problem....My hood wont completly close. i have a 100% fiberglass cowl hood that i guess is set up a lil different than a stock hood? it looks to be that the hood is hitting the bolts on the top part of the mount. i can close the hood all the way but it puts a little bit of stress on it.

Anybody else have this same problem?
Any suggestions on what i can do?

thanks guys

Try using some flush-head bolts.

i thought about that. but how is it going to keep from spinning when i tighten the nut? if it has the square key under the head...i dont believe it would work well since the holes in the bracket are round...

I agree with button head socket bolts. I use them occasionally at work and they can get you a little extra clearance. Luckily I have the option of facing or turning down the head in a lathe if I need. They often have a deep socket for the Allen key so there is still alot of area to grip the wrench.
