Hi guys, (and gals),
I just got back from ordering an 06 mustang, last night I "purchased" the 78 king cobra I had asked you all about. I figured out a way to store the car, asked the guy who has it if he could get parts back together and get it running. He said, "ok", so here I go.
Glad to join the II crowd,
Doc

Your mid-life crisis sounds like a fun trip :rlaugh: Did you get the 24 year old mistress yet?? (Joking, my jelousy over took my typing fingers) :D
Mustang always delivers on it's promise.
"Takes you away from the everyday" Just as Ford promised.
"Mustang II, Bordom 0" True, but that sometimes has an evil twist to it

What is the 2006 Mustang ad slogan anyway??

I don't consider this a midlife crisis as much as a "want to stay young" crisis". I am excited about both cars. Hopefully the 06 will run ok out of the box and the king cobra will be a source of enjoyment for my son (or maybe daughter) and me. I am feeling a bit spoiled, but if you could see the cars I have been driving for the last twenty years....well let's just say most of my friends are happy for me. My present vehicle is a 96 f-150, that I bought in preparation for mustang ownership. You don't see too many mustangs on the maine roads during winter.
Again, thanks for all your imput!
Doc

I do not think you said, but if the 06 is a GT, get it re-tuned on the dyno ASAP, the stock tune is almost as bad as the 94-5 tune. most eveybody gets 35-40 hp in stock trim at standard octanes

My 5 yr. old daughter has a slogan... Let me explain.

Last week my daughter an I went to a local cruise in.

I parked, got out of the car, opened the hood, then got my daughter out.

During this time a guy was looking over everything.

He said " This is a nice looking car "

My 5 yr. old daughter piped right up and told him " This is not a car..... It's a Mustang. "

I just about fell over. What a great kid. :nice:

By the way Doc, I'm from the Bangor area. Where are you from?

hehe Cute kid!

Cobra 7, I'm in South Portland. You are going to have to steer me to all the good places in Maine. I am already looking into body shops for the KC, and I "need" to find a dyno/tune when I get my 06. I will probably wait a while before I start changing things on it. I saw two rust bucket mustangs on the way to Thomaston, there was a nice 64.5 convertable in portland for $8,500 or bo. Should I be posting responses like this on a forum?

Rock Island? We have visitors from Davenport as we speak, and one of my "mustang mentors" lives in Davenport. Where did you buy your 05 from? Ron had told me there were few in the quad cities. I don't remember when he said that though. Wow, I was going to have Ron look around for a parts car for me, I guess you and Ron will be looking at the same cars!
Have fun,
Doc

Cool, I grew up in Davenport. Actually, I need to update that now, I moved to Moline. We bought our '05 at Sexton's, but actually Reynolds Ford had a couple of GT's that day too. Of course, now no one has any again. Dahl Ford is getting a couple in a few days, from word on the street, don't know if they're spoken for yet, though. Nice thing about the Quad Cities is that noone is marking up the '05's.

I can't afford any more kids, I'll never get my 06 that way!
Darkfire, did I say my wife was from Davenport? She is, and she is really turning into a mustang woman. She now tries to pick the year of cars she sees on the street. This is a major personal victory for me.
Two other topics: Why doesn't this forum keep all the posts, the way the others do?
Cobra7, I sent you a personal e-mail, but don't know if you got it. To answer your question, I am from Portland. You need to tell me where the good places are. I ordered my 06 from Casco bay ford.
take care all,
Doc
