Wheel and tires question

I am getting new rims and I was wondering what size tire I need to go with for a 17x9 wheel. Im not exactly sure but i think the stock gt wheels ar 17x8. I am clueless on this subject.

you can fit up to 275/40/17, same size wheel and tire on 03-04 cobras. 255/40 17 will also fit fine. I would go with either of those sizes. Other sizes will fit also but would not look as good imho.

I've seen 295's on the 17x9 rears and it looks sweet!!

My Buddy Just Put 275's on the Front, and 295's on the back and that looks awesome if you ask me IMHO.
