"Blown" An Epic Campaign to V6 Mustang Superiority!

Hey guys! I was reading this whole thread, and I'm pretty psyched about this entire deal. Convinced me to sign up to another BBS.

First off: The guy with the import is right. Our rear ends can't handle as much power as a GT has without breaking stuff. I spoke to the guy who sold me my car a few times. His brother is an engineer at Ford, who did a lot of testing on our cars. Our rear-ends start snapping at about GT performance levels (most can go past, but its risky).
Also, its lame to make fun of other people's cars (unless it is just straight up idiotic or they are being *******s :D ). Come on, the dude is a car enthusiast, just like we are. He has done a ton of work, has done it tastefully, and is just trying to point out a few flaws in our plan. He is by no means being an jerk, just trying to save us some pain by pointing out some stuff that could happen down the road. But I have to agree, All these people who got lucky and could manage a GT are really starting to piss me off, saying that we are idiots for even trying to mod a V-6.

Second: MSP, I'd be really interested in a lot more detail on how you are doing this (one you realize i'm not going to sell your secrets :) ). I'm going to have an insane summer with work, and will be rolling in the $$.

Oh yeah, Jen, you own an 05 , and you know what you are talking about. Marry me. Now. :D

Also, Have you figured in the cost of having your chip tuned? I know that even something as minor as a cold air intake will change the equation enough that the car will flip out and the check engine light will come on. I just read your post about your problems with the dual exhaust. These cars are REALLY cranky and you pretty much HAVE to re-flash the chip in order to make the car use your mods the way they were intended.

@ALL--The people who are looking out for my rear-ends best interest"Pun intended"..

We are aware of the need to upgrade some parts.. But "If it aint broke dont fix it.." Or "If it aint broke yet, dont fix it."

So, bottom line is this.. This is a done deal.. It takes 4-6 weeks to build my blower kit.. Accept it please..

Also, Most are right.. If infact I install the blower, and it breaks some stuff, then the GT in the long run is the best route.. However, if I can get by with 300RWHP without breaking things, then I am successful..

What is bothering me though, is for people to continually want to point out the negative.. Once is enough.. Let me ask you a question please..

Do you feel better telling guys who have V6's that if you put 300RWHP into the car, you will break things? Why do you feel the need to tell us this?'

This question is posed at JENN and some others...

Actually JENN, I am not impressed with the female situation.. I am happily married.. So I wont pull punches with you if you continue to tell people you have told us numerous times about breaking things.. I dont need your negative opinion, keep it..

I truley respect MakotoS13's opinion.. He is a seasoned veteran.. However he does not bring to light anything I dont already know.. Basically, of course I plan to change the rear-end when I get ready.. The tranny will withstand 300RWHP, maybe more.. If not, it will get swapped..

@ChrisNY

I could care less for the warranty man.. I drive my car less than 20 miles a week.. Its not my dailey driver... Actually, I could let it sit for 5 years in one place, and it would not effect me at all..

I dont want a Procharger, I want a roots type charger which produces better low-end torque..

@ALL

Dont mean to sound mean, forgive me if you have somehow been insulted..

But this is a revolution man.. Millions of people are excited about this, so find some type of enjoyment out of me installing a blower, and ripping my car to shreds! LOL!!

I don't think anyone here really knows for sure how much HP or Torque the 7.5" rearend can take. I think it's much stronger than most people think. It's been used in Rangers and the like with blowers I'm sure. I think that as long as you aren't taking the car to the track every weekend that it will hold up fine.

MSP.... Hahahahahahahaha OMG, where did this come from? I don't give a rats arse if you are married man. What female situation is that you are referring to? My gender has very little to do with my capability as an engineer you freak. I am not on here to score a date...hahahahaha.... I was here to talk shop, read what was said, consider it from a fundamental engineering and technical standpoint and than voice an educated hypothesis of the conceivable nature of your plan. Sorry if after careful review and consideration I found some holes. I was not trying to be negative. If you took it that way, you have a limited scope of understanding of personal interaction. Enjoy your project. :nice:

HAHAHAHAHAHA.......Please, you think your telling us something we dont know.? Your here to educate us? We dont need an education.. Like we dont all know we bought V6's, and what that encompasses.. Who are you trying to impress, surely not me.. I'm not impressed with your ability to state the obvious.. By your logic, us V6 guys should never even try to do more to our cars.. Its a hopeless endeavor.. You gotta start somewhere Jenn.. You dont build it all at once, that would ruin the fun.. If you wanted a challenge, which is why I bought a V6 in the first place, then you buy all the other guts over time.. If not, just buy a GT... Your logic states that we shouldnt even bother trying to add more performance to the car.. Most of us here dont agree with you.. Most of us understand that the V6 as it sits is limited in its scope for performance.. Buy increasing it, at some point you may need to add things here and there.. Everyone should understand that.. Why do you feel it needs to be said 3 or 4 times like you mentioned? To make yourself seem more knowledgable? Please!! :notnice:

MSP,
you obviosly havent read most of jenns posts. lightn up.

LOL!! Ok, sorry Jennifer! I can be kind of short sometimes.. My apologies.. But my position is, if I twist it, it just got twisted! LOL!! :nice: Meaning a driveline or axle.. Basically, I'll show no pity for the rearend to get these 4.0's producing something respectable.. But seriously, I honestly doubt that for what I am looking to do, I'll push the rearend that far.. Honestly, a stock GT is doing 295RWHP.. My goal is 300RWHP.. In which case, I'll probably only stress the rearend on the freeway @ 60MPH... Knowing we have a limited scope with it anyway, it wouldnt make sense to constantly stress the axle with deadstop launches.. Hope that makes sense.. This goes for the tranny as well..

Where the GT can hammer the components from a dead stop, in the short term, us V6's will have to be aware of our limitations..

:cheers: thanks MSP i am sure you will find Jen to be a wealth of info and also she is one of us were all tired of the 8v bashers. lets focus on them not each other. KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BALL

I can relate ! its funny i had a pretty funny thread going the other day with Waylon - Nolyaw but i had to go set up the fireworks show and buy the time i got back to reply duner had closed it. kind glad he did i would have said bad bad things.

MSP...

My appreciation for the apology. I, in turn, apologize for any inappropriate comments or lack of tact I displayed during the short exchange.

I sincerely wish you the best of building on your project and nothing but success for a 10 second 1/4 mile.

thank gosh Duner closed that thread! UGH!! its threads and topics like that one that keep me away from this site.

MSP, I don't think anyone is discouraging this project (if they thought it was stupid they would have stopped reading 6 pages ago :D ). The way I see it is that you seem like you have a bit of money to throw around, and you seem like you could replace the axle if you broke it. If we didn't warn about certain things, someone who didn't know abotu these limitations might read this, duplicate it, then seriously wreck their car and not being able to replace it. Just making sure that everyone involved knows.

Also, out of wild curiosity, why did you decide on the gtech? Cost? Know something the rest of us don't?

Actually I have been following mostly for the entertainment qualities myself .. but thats just me..Quick someone else piss off MSP .. those exchanges are the most entertaining parts of the thread.. chop chop

Millions sounds like a little bit of an overstatement.... How many 05 V6 stangs have been sold???
