I was leaving for work last night, and the car just shut down and would not restart. I was going to the gas station fuel was low but it wasn't empty. I can hear the fuel pump come on when I try to start it. I found some corrosion on the battery terminal, cleaned it off still won't start. Put the battery on the charger will see what happens. Did a visual inspection of the engine compartment didn't see anything unusual. I have to find a code puller to see whats happening. What do we have OBD1 or OBD 11. Any idea how much these cost?

What should I try next?

Start with the basics....spark, and charge. Your alternator may have went south, and totally drained your battery to where it wont hold charge.
I'd take the battery and alt to autozone and have them test them (its free)..start there.
You can also visually check all your spark plug wires, and cap n rotor.

I would love to run to the parts store but the wife has the keys to the spare car and she's at work. It just keeps getting better

This is what I've done so far. Checked all of the fuses, changed the fuel filter,spark plugs,plug wires, installed my oem coil, checked the wiring to the distributor ignition module, MAF, pout switch,. I turned over the car with the new spark plugs and nothing. Pulled a plug and smell fuel. I reinstalled the plug, I put one of the old spark plugs into the wire and rested it on a bolt to ground it. My neighbor watched it as I tried to start the car. He said there was no sign of a spark. So my next thing is to remove the module and take it someplace to have it checked, before I go spending any money. If checks good then the only thing I could figure would be fuel pressure. I plan on buying a pressure gage for the fuel rail anyway so now I have an excuse. If it doesn't work then I'm at a complete loss and just might put a bullet in her : )

OBD I. Let us know what happens next. TFI, PIP and coil are likely candidates for no spark.
Having a FP gauge is a great idea - like you said it is a good excuse.

You should be back up and runnin in no time.
