Foglight + Headlight bulb question..

Can you give me a part number and/or a brand name to look for? I think Sylvania pulled the Silverstar foglights that they had since they only worked for 100 hours, But I found the 893 silver stars on this website. Also, when I put in 2001 mustang, it comes up with 893ST for foglights, and also 880ST, which it says replaces the 893ST. Are the 880ST's the new bulb that lasts longer like a bulb should?

http://www.sylvaniasilverstar.com/

So are those the ones that are only rated for 100 hours?

The 883ST was what i used. THe 880ST will work, but it's not as bright. It runs at a lower wattage.

As for my foglights

those are the exact bulb i use. Don't let the ricer blue thing fool you, it lights up white and matches my silverstar headlights perfectly.

Getting the top two attachment bolts for the brackets out was a PITA for me, but it's worth it. If I knew then what I know now it would have been much easier. BTW the fog light assembly simply snaps out of the bracket.
do I need to take the bracket out to snap out the fog light assembly? Any suggestions on where to order new foglight assembly (without the brackets)from?

I ordered them up, so hopefully they are as good as you say. How long have you had them? If they hold up, it's not a bad deal for $20 shipped.

Yes

I bought mine from MustangTuning, but you can probably get them on eBay as well. I ran a bead of clear silicone around the edge of the lens on mine, just to prevent the potential leaks/fogging that aftermarket light asemblies are notorious for having.

Go to best buy and see if they have the redline 9007 headlight bulbs. They are brighter and whiter than my friends silverstars and they're only like $15 or $20. I've had mine for about a year with no problems but im not sure if they still carry them.

Yes the clear lenses actually make them functional and look better as well.

i have had the clear fogs in for about a year and the make a huge improvement. I heard about the silverstars burning out fast and went with a PIAA fog light bulb with no problems. They are as bright as my silverstar headlights.

I wouldn't have to worry about them melting in their would i?

Pep Boys (Permatex clear silicone)
Well, I got it and sealed them and they are in.

Now I have several parts I need to complete and improve my somewhat ghetto foglight install.

I need 2 additional clips (the metal ones that slide over the plastic holes and allow you to screw the light into it rather then just screwing onto the plastic) 2 screws to fit the clips, and also 4 female spade connector ends to redo the wire ends because they are beat to high hell and keep coming loose. The problem is I am unsure what sizes are needed of the clips, screws, and female spade connectors.

I THINK that it is a #8 clip and #8 screw, but i am not entirely sure. If anyone could verify this I would greatly appreciate it.

As for the spade connectors, the smallest I could find was .187...They looked close, but I could find no smaller.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Not to mention, how hard would it be for me to cut my wires at the end and put the new female spade connectors on, since my old ones are rusted out and old? Is it reccomended to get waterproof spade connectors instead?

Thanks in advance!
