Just pick up a 5.0 LX,it had a rear disc brake set up, It was suggest by others that might be the whole rearend from a 87 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, Is there anyway to tell, marking or serial number somewhere on the disc brake or rear end somewhere ? If it is from a T-Bird.. What gear ratio might it be,cause right now the speedo is way off ( At 2000rpm it is showing 80-85 mph ).
BTW It is a AOD car.

Thanks for any input.

Is there a tag on the rearend? I have a TC rearend and it was off an automatic so I have 3.73 gears. I also both the whole rearend.
Automatic's have 3.73's and stick TC has 3.55's gears.

One way to tell is to look at the quad shock brakets and also look for the ABS gear on the axle shafts. The TC had a larger quad bracket and they need to be drilled lower for use on the Mustang. And the axles are of course longer. Sevan is correct on the gears. To fix the speedo, you need to know the year of the tranny and then you can find the closest gear.
