Ok - My tire guy (Salerno Tires) said he can get me Drag Radials for my 17" cobra rims - now if I was to put these on and drive daily w/ them - would they wear alot faster than regular street tires w/ regular tread? How much faster would they wear - I may buy two pony's and get drag radials for them i believe 16" they are, and switch for track nights. But.... Just wondering if they can be driven on daily - Probably really bad in teh rain

I have just over 3,000 on my nittos now and they dont even look warn down that much at all and thats after 10 passes at the track as well :D I dont abuse them on the street though.

I have two buddies that had BFG DR's on thier cars, lasted no more than 3000miles. I had had Nitto 275/40R17 Nitto DR's on my car, drove about 10,000 plus miles on them, they still had some thread on them when I sold the wheels. We don't baby our cars but then again we don't drive around like idiots doing burnouts and donuts everywhere either. I went to the track quite often.

The BFG's stick a lot better than Nitto's, but the Nitto's last a lot longer. The Nitto's will definatly stick a lot better than a regular radial and will last about as long becuase you won't be burning them off as much. DR's suck in the rain, but they are managable. For a Daily Driver, I would get regular radials and then get some slicks for the track.

I'd like to try the M/T DR's.

M/T's are very soft, I'd be surprised to get 1500 miles out of them if you drive hard. You can sink your fingers in them...

We have 8000 miles on a customers 500hp blown cobra and the BFG's are getting thin....

I've done the dr's at the track and regular radials on the street...
Save yourself some $$$, and just get slicks/et-streets for the track.
DR's are neat, some folks have thier car set up to really make use of them, but, slicks will hook even if you're running totally stock suspension, and will be less dependant on track conditions.

:stupid:

a friend has 7000 miles on his mt drag radials and 10 passes still have plenty of tread. his car only weights 2600lbs so that and light burnouts at the track and they can last.

i would run two sets if its a daily driver. street set and track set
