when i shift it seems like its harder to put into gear than it should be. i drove my friends 92lx and it shifts alot smoother than mine does. it doesnt grind, its just stiff and hard to put in gear. sometimes after i drive it for awhile i cant put it back into first, or other gears. its random and i cant figure it out. sometimes it goes into gear like it should, and other times it fells like im trying to put it into a gear thats just not there. reving it up sometimes works. it never grinds tho.... thats what confuses me. if it was a bent fork wouldnt it be hard all the time. when teh car cools down im gona check the fluid level.... can anyone help me. o and if i go to downshift from 5th to 4th it wont go in without reving it up to like 3 grand, but it never grinds

i just checked the level in the tranny. i pulled hte top plug out and the fluid was barly coming out. the car was run for about 25 min b4 i put it in the garage, and its sat for about 40 min.....

almost sounds like the synchros. i,m not an expert but i do drive nonsynchro 13 and 15sp class a trucks. you said you have to rev it up to go from 5th to 4th. thats the way you drive non synchro trannys. have to let the rpms drop(about 500 rpm) to upshift. have to rev them up(about 500rpm) to grab the next gear downshifting.
