Washing the Car
A friend of mine just had her '01 GT (with ~42K miles) declared as "totalled," simply because it rolled down a 75' embankment and bounced off a few things. :p She has offered to donate any working parts to my '98GT. I immediately thought "woo-hoo...free P.I. heads & cams!" I was also considering the upper/lower P.I. intake manifold. If these parts don't have damage from the accident, would it be safe to install "used" parts on my '98GT (with ~72K miles)? She did drag/street race this car quite often, and the only other engine mods it had were a K&N CAI and a Saleen chip of some sort. What should I be concerned about with respect to damage? Should I install them with the P.I. cams, or go with VT Stage 1 cams instead? On a '98GT with the heads/cams/intake being donated, and the labor being done at home, how much $ would I need to invest for gaskets and other relevant parts? Thanks!

Dude pull the entire engine out and swap it, along with with the tranny, EEC, wireing. It would be worth getting the whole thing, less miles, wouldnt have to tear into the engine. It would be FREE. All you need is a little time. The engine is fine, people have made daily 6K runs for 200K and the cars are still going. These engines hold up well.
