I have about 1500 miles on this new clutch (spec stage 1), anyone else here have this clutch. Mine is smelling reealll bad. Whenever I drive up on my trailer or back into my driveway I can smell it. My motor is stock so I'm not doing any serious power. Is the Spec stage 2 better for me since its not organic? Also when I do burnouts in 2nd I can smell it too :( Thanks

Yeah man I had a Stage 1 for about 1500 miles, and it smelled real bad most of the time. It chattered like a son of a bitch too. But then I found out that my D&D adjustable clutch cable was frayed and causing the clutch to burn. Now I have a Stage 2 and a stock clutch cable (non-adjustable) and this setup is 100x better. What cable and quadrant are you running?

thx for the replies, I'm running the bbk adjustable cable and quad. w/ firewall adj. To tell you the truth I've never really adjusted nothing since the install. I should take a look at it but I mean it was fine before I got my new tires.

Yeah definitely try messing with the adjustment and see what you can accomplish. If that doesn't fix it, I would suggest getting yourself a stock non-adjustable cable. Much better quality, and you don't need adjustment at the cable if you have a firewall adjuster.

youre frying the clutch dude and wearing out the TO bearing. Give the cable some slack, then go under the car and pull on the cable where it meets the plate, it should be loose when the clutch pedal is up... Hope this helps.

Over 10K on my SPEC stage 1, still like the day I put it in. Never chattered even once, never smelled, easy pedal and smooth operation and lightswitch grab when it's hot. I love it, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. UPR triple hook quadrant, Extreme FWA, and FRPP adjustable cable. Never any problems with any of it.
