2005 Ford Mustang GT460R

Vortech SC, T56 transmission and few other mods make it push out 500HP. Great thing is that you can buy it at your dealership and comes with factory warranty :nice:

I am eagerly awaiting confirmation of this particular setup.. If infact this is a creditable post, then this world just got better by about 500 more OEM HP! LOL!! I am curiious at what the price will be for something like this.. $60K 50K if we're lucky..?? I couldnt justify giving for $50k for a Mustang thats pimped out with 500HP.. You could just buy a GT and add a Blower setup..

But show me 32K to 35K and we are starting to she some sticks shaking..

@Original Poster

The credibility part is in relation to this being the first I have heard of such a car.. Not towards you personally.. Just dont want to start a good thread off on the wrong foot is all.

Update

A swift google search has yielded absolutley nothing on such a car.. Which is alittle strange.. But lets see what happens..

I would think if such a model really existed, we would know about it *before* the end of its model year. Also, a google search for GT460 would turn up at least 1 result.

I call :bs:

Hey Twitch,

Thanks and where did you find that set-up you quoted? I know that Ken Gushi is racing a White 460R like Stang in Drift but the specs are more like this long winded write-up.

Toyo Tires® and Ford Racing Performance Parts
Announce 2005 Ford Mustang GT Drift Car with Driver Ken Gushi

Toyo Tires® and Ford Racing Performance Parts announce their all new 2005 Ford Mustang GT drift car equipped with Toyo Proxes T1-S™ ultra-high performance radials in 255/45R18 front and 285/40R18 rear sizes. Piloting this exciting new Mustang is 18-year-old Ken Gushi, a rising young star in the sport of Drifting.

The white Mustang features a GT-R themed body kit that includes front and rear fascias, rocker cover, quarters, a rear wing and blue competition stripes. The American muscle staccato and tire smoking horsepower will come from a 4.6-liter 4-valve V8 Supercharged Cobra “Terminator” engine with an anticipated 500+ rear wheel horsepower. Pumping massive quantities of air and fuel through the engine is a Ford Racing - Whipple Supercharger Upgrade Kit, a Cobra Air Meter and Clean Air Tube and a Magna Flow Cat-back Performance Exhaust System. Additional components include a 4.10 Ring & Pinion Upgrade Kit, Custom 2-piece Driveshaft and a Cobra “Terminator” 6-speed T-56 Manual Transmission. A full suspension treatment will be applied to this car, while interior components include Cobra R Recaro Racing Seats and a full complement of Ford Racing Gauges.

The 18-inch Cobra “R” chrome wheels will be shod with Proxes T1-S™ radials from Toyo Tires®. Toyo’s Proxes T1-S™ provides the ultimate in traction for street performance machines. Its DSOC II™ computer design technology ensures a quality performance product, while its aggressive tread design enhances the appearance of your car.

Guys, this car is a dealership modified car. It's only available at Chomedey Ford here in Quebec. It is like Yenko Camaros or other dealership modded vehicles.

I'm sure you guys in the States have dealership modified Mustang sold with factory warranty.

actually Gushi just had his car down at the San Jose Grand Prix and i spent a long time checking it out and watching him drive... Although it says magnaflow system in that article, he has borla exhaust and from what people all around the car were saying it wasn't clearing 500+hp...it was just under. i could be wrong, but that was what everyone was saying while it was displayed. its a great looking car and i have pics on my phone (but no clue how to transfer them to my comp to show you guys)
oh, btw...its fast as hell.

It appears that Gushi's car has made a sunami in the Drifting venue. On Drifting.com they are less than happy with the Stang being in there and a few guys have said that once the suspension is dialed in, it will be a beast to contend with, even if it is the "fat girl at the prom". There are a few companies out there producing nothing but Mustang specialty suspension designed for Drifting. I know most 1/4 Drag Racers are not too thrilled about the introduction of the Stang in Drift. But, I for one am glad to see it as a contender and Ken as the driver. :nice:

Sweet.. Ok so its a Dealer modified car sweet.. This may be a really dumb question but, what does the 460 stand for? There is a chance I could get flamed for this, but in the interest of knowing all the facts, the question had to be asked..

I know it is ridiculous to assume they dropped in a 460 BigBlock!! Nah.. No way... Is it? :D

Now if the logic about Cobra and GT debates is to be respected, then I need a damn good explanation why 460 is on the side.. To me it looks like a GT with a 460 Big Block! Man, I'm going to get roasted on a stick for this question.. LOL!!

I'm sure there are plenty of people upset about a mustang in drifting. But they'll get over it.

Those people deserve to see a real car everynow and then as well. It sure looks (and I'll bet sounds) better than any of the 20 year old ricers they usually run.

I hope for the best. Simply because it will be funny to see an american car. Beat the imports in their own sports. Which leaves how many more motorsports to beat them in?
