I searched and found mostly people's signature lines....go figure.

Can someone light the way for me as to the best way to install this piece on my GT?

I'm thinking:
1. Clean all surfaces
2. Double side tape the thing in place to perfection
3. Drill holes for the plastic rivets
4. Tap rivets in
5. Drool

Should I try to avoid the tape and just have a friend hold it up while I drill the holes in the fascia?

Most of what I have read speaks to the alighnment issue. You are either going to align to the fender wells or to the front of the bumper cover. You should decide which prior to beginning the install. Also, I would use the tape to hold it in place during install...

Good call, KT. Anyone have a pic of both of these installation locations (front vs wells)???

Would probably do best to match the Mach's specs...

I did mine yesterday. It was a pain in the ass trying to get it aligned with the front bumper lip so I just lined it flush with the wheel wells. I made a boo boo on my install and drilled a couple holes in the wrong place while I was trying to make it flush with the front. Measure twice drill once. :nonono:

TP, I think they did it the way the Mach is done in the Bullitt article. That's the way I'm going.

No disrespect to the Bullitt archive article, but read my sig....I have a real, genuine, from-the-factory, Mach 1 with a OEM factory-installed chin spoiler, and it is not installed with the ends flush with the wheel well. If it were it would be set too far back from the front bumper cover in my opinion.

Sweet input. I'm glad (for me) that I can learn from your mistake (sorry but good tip). I'm going with the fender well line-up.
Talked to my parts guy at Ford and they are on back-order until 8/20/05. Steeda's out, RandyStinchcomb's out. rrrrr... :damnit:

I would have to see a close-up pic to be sure; there could be some variations in how they are fitted at the factory. Ideally I would think they would fit flush with the wheel wells and the front bumper cover, but such is not the case. It will look much better than the plain bumper anyway, no matter how you decide to line it up.
