tuner

hey guys i have a 03 manual v6
Would getting the diablosport tuner for my car really help me at all?
Will I have to switch to 93 octane gas once I get it?
I want to stay with 87 octane while getting the best performance out of my mustang. 93 is too expensive.

I was thinking about getting that one to, my car is still under warrenty and that one wont void it cause u dont open the computer just plug it in the back. So if u wont to over ride your speed govenor or have different size tires that would be a good invesment. If you have some bolt ons and have it dyno tuned you probably will get a few more HP but not notice it, I think it claims 12 HP on its own. Good luck let us know what u end up doing :flag:

It gives you a bit... nothing to write home about. if you have different gears or bigger wheels/tires it'll save you a ton plus you can adjust a few things like timing and fuel ... I think somwhere around 8-10rwhp is about right off a stock stang... more or less. The more you have done to your car the more it'll help.

EDIT: you don't have to run 93 octane, I think you can choose to do that if you want but I don't think it a must. However if you do choose to run it, then yes you have to run it all the time or whenever you what to run 87 you have to remove that from the tune... not a big deal to remove.

If you think about it, 93 octane compared to 87 octane maybe be a 20 cent difference per gallon, but since gas is so expensive, you can look at it as only a 5-10% increase in price over 87. I just figured another 5% isn't very expensive, and thats how i convinced myself to go with the 93 octane tune, and maybe that will help you.

I have a diablosport tuner for my auto v6 and I love it. I have a CAI, UDP's, and dual exhaust as mods and the tuner was a big help. It shifts alot firmer and quicker now, and gets up to speed quite a bit faster it seems. I always run premium, usually where I gas up it's 92 octane. The manual recommends for any diablo tune that you run premium gas so I'm not sure how well it would run after awhile if you put on the diablo tune and run 87 or something. I would assume after awhile you might start having problems but maybe not.

Im just worried im gonna get into a crunch and .20 extra a gallon is gonna kill me. I can afford it now but its gonna be tuff. Zinc had a good point. The nights I go out racing is on thursdays and saturdays. Could i just fill up with 93 those days and switch the tune. Here's another way lookin at it. We're still not payin as much as the gt drivers are. Thanks guys
