Dog stepped all over radiator!

does a bent up radiator effect the coolness or its performance.. i had mine out and my dog ran over it and bent up the thingys.. its kinda bad. so i was just wondering if i should invest in a new one

Yes. the fins need the air to pass through them. if they lay flat the rad will not work properly.

You can buy rad combs that straighten the fins out some, but if its really bad you may need a new one.

Although I've never heard of this happening either - and I'll definately try to refrain from laying my radiator out on the ground anymore (just did this the other day), I really doubt the dog would have to be very big to bend those little flemsy fins.

Either way, yeah you'd probably want to buy a new one if it's very bad. You could post up some pics to help judge.

If you do end up having to buy a new rad,get a 3 core,as they are readily available for 5.0L Mustangs.

I've spent a few hours with a small flat tipped screw driver, and a pair of flat-blade needle nose pliers straightening both radiator and a/c condenser fins. Just takes a little time and patience assuming it's not so bad that it can't be repaired.
