Just got my car dyno'd...

I'm a little disappointed with the numbers: 367rwhp, 384 rwtq. The car stock should have been 425hp at the flywheel so that would seem about right, but I thought with a smaller pulley I would see better numbers.

I have something weird going on though that noone (Chicane or GRC Performance) have been able to find for me yet. There is a slight stumble under acceleration. Anybody experienced this before and have any suggestions? I checked the MAF sensor and cleaned it, replaced the fuel filter, and there seems to be no vacuum leaks. What else could it be?

You need a custom dyno tune.....

Those numbers are yes indeed dissapointing. but a 3.75 blower pulley is HUGE. I know for a fact that RR makes a 2.8 BLower pulley for my car, so they have to for yours. how much boost are you seeing? My 03 saleen S-281SC With just a JLT CAI, BBK longtube Headers, and BBK catted x-pipe made 347/350.

Your motor is built ready for Over 15 psi. Up the boost and the Fuel, and get a new tune. You should be at 450RWHp then. if that aint enough, then add a Water Methonal Injection kit, or some N20 and you wont be complaining lol.

:)

Still ok Numbers.

Steve is very conservative. You need to go somewhere else if you want big numbers. You have a stumble because he tunes it at wide open throttle.

You need Joe's program. How does 435 RWHP sound? If you don't know what that is, PM me and I will fill you in. The stumble is under very light throttle in any high gear right?
Like I said, contact me by PM.

Da da da, da dah dada da. Damn.

Is not the stock rated boost 10 lbs. for the E car?

What is being used for the tune?

With the stock pulley I was seeing about 8 to 10 pounds of boost, 10 rarely. Now I'm seeing about 10 to 12 max. The car was done on the dyno with a custom tune done on a computer then loaded using a diablo. Took a lot of work to make it happen but it seemed to work out well.

I should have clarified on the stumble issue. The car started stumbling before the tune was done. It came on really lightly about a month ago and got progressively worse. It does it in any gear, any amount of throttle, but it is the worst in 6th gear, but it also does it off the line, its just all over the place. Its also not consistant. Right now it seems better, but when it does it, you feel it in the whole car. It actually almost stalled one time off one of them. It even did it a couple of times on the dyno today at high RPM and they thought it was just too rich so they leaned it out and it did go away. I'm really starting to think its a vacuum leak somewhere or a bad sensor. I'm ready to just replace sensors for the hell of it and maybe I'll get lucky. But at this point I'd dance around it naked with a box of junior mints and a balloon if I thought it would help.

Thing is, before the stumble, it was running so rich I left nice brownish clouds behind me at WOT. That's gone but now this. :bang:

Marcus, your numbers sound a lot better. :) I'm very interested. I just want to make sure this stumble is gone before I push it too much.

Just another proof of HP over rated saleens :(

I made 278rwhp with saleen blower, now 433rwhp at 9psi after a KB swapp and no other changes. My car will smoke a saleen E anytime now..
Just blower efficiency, nothing else  saleen blowers will never make good power, too bad.

:damnit: I didn't allow a mental picture to form until you mentioned it...

I can't believe that is all the power you were making with a S/C. My N/A car put down 286rwhp 315ftlbtq after four dyno's. The guy doing the dyno said that if we had let the car cool down and it wasn't over 100deg in the shop it would be closer to 300/330 (plus 5-8hp more once the motor is broken in). All I have is an 03' GT crate motor, Comp Cams, long-tubes, o/r x-pipe, 4 way chip, and a custom tune...

i get 13psi with my little s4 blower and made 376 and 381 torque most of the ones i tune since im sct dealer leave with 375to 381 to the wheels. Its all in the tune there is a certain sweet spot with these cars. I found in mine thats why im prob the only guy here that hit 11.9 at 114.8 with stock exhaust except high flow cats and yes i will brag and brag to all you forum and magazine fools that said i could not do it and my suspension is stock [email protected] for info and to make that saleen run

Sir.

We totally understand the awesome gains you have made, and tuned into your car with your Saleen blower. I believe for the most part I have, and others have complimented you in your good work even though we have no idea who you are?
Do you have a web site? Somewhere where all of this great info can be posted except here stating you ran an 11.9 with stock exhaust?

I think you need to hire someone to run your PR dept if you are interested in growing your business. From the numbers it sounds promising, but from another business owners standpoint maybe you should lighten up with the

"and yes i will brag and brag to all you forum and magazine fools"

comments. Just a thought. Not an attack. I'd love to hear more about your technical gains and parts combo's, unless thats classified.

Not to completely hijack the thread, but what you have done is great! I know at the end of your last post was your idea of a solicitation but it was lost on me from the other comments in your post.

I'm sure ExtremeSaleen could be a great customer of yours since he has a built bottom end and a bigger series V blower than what you have been working with and you make 9 more hp. He is miffed obviously like others including myself are about his baseline #'s.

Good luck.

I don't really agree 00. While the KB may be more efficient, the series V blower is no slouch. The problem is the intercooler, which I’m going to have Chicane resolve soon. I’m also thinking about a NX Ntercooler system on top of that.

By most accounts Saleens are detuned from the factory. The powerflash is notoriously crappy and most people see nice power gains with just a tune. But then that depends on the tuner. The person I used hadn’t done a lot of Saleens, and had done no E cars, so the tune maybe very conservative. It’s all about the tuner, right? And for the E I’ve always heard underrated, not over.

I think I’ll see much better numbers with the current setup when I find my stumble problem. I have pretty much decided that I have a flaky O2 sensor. The car runs better for a bit when I reset the computer then the stumble comes back in. I thought I smelt burning after I had my X-pipe installed and it may have been the wiring to one of them. I’m crawling under it today to see.

One interesting footnote to getting it tuned: my intercooler temps are way down now. In fact last night driving around it was below 130. During the day she’s staying right about 130. Maybe my engine was running really hot because of the timing and that was finding its way into the supercharger?

Marcus,

Could you elaborate a little on the details of the "Stumble" problem and how to resolve? I've been experiencing the same problem ever since I went to a 66mm pulley....it's driving me nuts!!

Thanks!

ExtremeSaleen,

I hope you are right. Let us know what numbers you get with the chicane intercooler. It's a shame you have to do this after ...spending so much for an E car... just to make some decent power which you already should have from the factory.
