Hello! my names art, I have an 05 GT mustang (automatic)

I have k&n intake and flow master Exhaust 2.5inch Piping cat back.

My friend has a 05 Subaru STi we both bought our cars in may, and we were a good matchup.. he got a few mods and a tune now he has 310WHP :( and blows me away....

My questions are..
1. What else can I do to my car I dont see too many options
2. I have seen those diablo tuners and stuff but dont know the first thing about tuning would I be able to DiY?
3. If not where is a good place in the Los Angeles area where I can get all my stuff done?

thanks!!

All of those websites are a dime a dozen and offer the same things as close to the same prices. Charge motion plates,I think, just allow for more air to easily enter the engine, which all in all equals more power. Who cares about how they technically work, they just make your car go somewhat faster

Stock charge motion plates have a valve between the intake manifold and the intake ports on the heads. They stay partially closed at low rpm/throttle to increase intake velocity and better mix fuel/air for better emissions. They open fully, yet still somewhat restrict at full throttle, which is why valveless plates like the ones from Steeda (and others) make more power.

I would get a different CAI like Steeda. As far as tuners do a google search for SCT Tuners there are plenty of places that sell them. When you order your Tuner all you have to do is tell them what mods you have like your CAI,Gears.etc. They will send it to you with your tune already in it. Just plug it in to the port under the lower left side of the dash next to your left knee. Then follow the directions.
I personally carried my car to a dyno shop that sold SCT Tuners and had them program the tuner and then do a dyno to check air mixtures and fuel to make sure it was doing what it was suppose to be doing.

That would be my guess, but until she says she's had an 05 Stang tuned there, I won't know for sure. She may be an employee of SoCal Tuning, she may have had a non 05 Mustang tuned there, or she may have simply read positive reviews.

delurker,

Your's must be the redfire GT then? I saw it in the shop when I took my car on Tuesday to get tuned.

Shawn is good he takes his time to make sure your car is tuned properly with a safe air/fuel ratio for whatever type of driving style you have on the street.

Good Luck
