Hey...

Ok... I've been lurking for a week or so with a post here and there... Trying to get the feeling of this board... So far I really like this one... so as requested... LOL! Here's some info on my latest mod and some backgrond on my car...

I bought my 05 V6 in March. Very happy with my car. Then a couple of appearance mods... then I found the joy of performance mods... I am now a complete car addict! I never even went to a car show before I bought this car. Now I'm usually showing my car at cars shows every Saturday and Sunday!!! LOL! I am completely hooked!! Luckily I have an incredibly understanding and loving wife! LOL!

Little more about my car and it's performance mods. I bought a SCT X-Cal2 and was stunned at the performance gain from this little magic device! LOL! While I was happy with the tune I received but more on that later!

I then decided I wanted to fill up those big wheel wells in the back. I put a set of BFG Radial T/A on the back... and I mean BIG ones! They are 265/60/16. A lot wider than the stock 215s and 1.5 inches taller! Gives the car a nice agressive stance! Then came the MMR intake and the high flow tube. Kind of pricey but did get some gains and it looks sooooo cool! LOL!

I had changed the muffler the first day I got the car but the off brand aftermarket was looking pretty crappy so I now have a Magnaflow single cat-back exhaust...

So the car was lookng good and running good... Now I had read about Lidio at Alternative Auto in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.. it's about 1.5 hours away... Everything I read about Lidio and everything people had to say about him, was he was the best in the area... perhaps anywhere... Now I had talked with Lidio back in March. At that time he was not doing anything with the V6. Well about 3 or 4 weeks ago I called up Lidio... He had just finished a V6 tune! So I took a day off work and drove down to his shop. We loaded up his tune and WOW! What a difference! Lidio has built this tune from the ground up! All the torque limiters have been removed. The shifts are friggin unbelieveable! One thing we noticed wat that my BIG tires were killing my performance off the line! Time for gear swap!

So last week I had 4.10s and T-Lok put in! WOW!!! Talk about waking up my car! The car is down right scary at times! LOL! Hard to believe this is the same car I started with... when i drove my car off the lot I couldn't get the tire to chip even power braking.... now I'm chirpping the tires on the shifts! And when I want I can lay down two stripes of rubber like crazy!!!

I'm really excited about this forum... All this talk about serious performance out of are V6s! Lots of great info here! Now I've spend some time with Lidio... and he's really excited about the V6 mustang too! And Lidio knows a lot about performance! His site is http://www.alternativeauto.com

Ok.. a little more on the t-lok and the 4.10s... I paid a little more on the parts because I just bought them from the shop that installed... I could have got the parts a little cheaper by shopping around and seeing if they would install. But I was on a tight schedule so I was willing to pay a little extra for the parts. The shop charged $300 for labor... Total bill was $900 for motive gears and Ford T-lok and install..

Now remember I have the big tires... which would my 4.10s comparable to a 3.88 if i still had stock tires... Based on that I would say the 4.10s would have been a little much if I still had stock tires...

Performance data... I have a dyno reading but we think it's not accurate. I'm having the car dyno'ed on thursday will i'm down for the Woodward Dream cruise... based on the inaccurate dyno we're guessing I'm somewhere between 190 and 200RWHP... Using the X-Cal2 datalogging I'm doing a 0-60 in about 6.6 sec. That's with an auto! LOL!

Ok... sorry for the long winded post!

Check out my pics at: http://www.tammyandjohn.com/Mustang/April_05/index.html

thanks!!!!

Well, I'm taking my car in Wednesday to have the oil changed.. I'll see if I can get a picture then!!!! LOL!

I do need to get a good burnout pic or maybe vid!

I did notice this morning, with that nice COOL air that the car was lifting the nose pretty good on the shifts! And the back end break loose a little bit on the shifts!!!

I can't wait to get the car on the dyno Thursday!!!

Thats awesome you said you got some gains with the mmr intake and tune, I was just about to go the same route, or the new aef one that is coming out but what is " some gains?" According to their site you should have seen an increase of 18rwhp at the most, do you know how much you gained? Or better yet, can you feel the difference?

Yeah, I can definitely feel it, especially at the higher RPMs.. I've been on the dyno but we're thinking it wasn't real accurate... I'm getting the car back on the dyno Thursday morning so I'll be posting a new sheet next week... I'm guessing with the Tune, MMR and Exhaust I've picked up about 20 RWHP... I'll have a more definite answer after Thursday...

Screw it, keep waiting. C&Ls just went to production.. if we're lucky it might be out within the next month. The big guns with the GT were C&L and JLT both producing almost the exact same gains.. Im waiting for these two, as hard as it is, before I make any decisions.

Scrming,
How can we get your/lidio's tune? I've got a SCT X2 coming but I know that there are different tunes out there. I thought someone told me they can be emailed and downloaded into the tuner itself. Is that possible?
