My dealer scratched the panel above the glove box door when replacing my Shaker A. He has offered to replace it but says its part of the entire dash unit (around $1,600 in cost) and requires an entire day to replace.
I am concerned about what else might be scratched if I let him do this.
There are dash kits on the market which cover the area in question. They match the Interior Upgrade Package, which I do not have.
Has anyone added these kits? What do you think of them? Any problems installing? Any problems if you eventually wanted to remove them?
Any photos?
Thanks.

Hey Stan,

Yes. Mimoso interior dash overlay kit. I personally love it. Which upgrade do you have? I have the glove box portion and 3 others I am willing to mail to you. If you have Satin Nickle it will not look right with the OEM brushed aluminum. PM me and let me know.

Here is a pic of the kit I got. It is OEM Brushed Aluminum. I only wanted the center stack, but opted for the 15 piece kit due to the quality of the material versus some other kits. It is fairly easy to install as long as you are a perfectionist and can apply the overlay material the first time. Prefitting it the key and working the pattern through your head. The 3M adhesive promoter leaves no room for error. As for removal. It can be done. I had the center console on and it looked like Xibit was pimpin my ride. I got the adhesive off but scratched the console (not in the pic-scratches happen. I have a 7 year old. The pristine car is no longer an option). If you even consider not keeping it permanent, DO NOT USE the adhesive promoter.

Hahahaha.... God forbid indeed. :rlaugh: Yes, and you should see the NOS seat covers I have. I am getting ready to install the 22" Spreewell Spinners soon. Just have to get them out of the box past the 2- 17" drop down DVD screens I am going to install and the Neon Night Runner Kit box.

Pfffttttt... LOL.... You guys crack me up. That is okay. To each her own.

I have an aftermarket dash overlay installed by the dealer. Its just on the upper part of the dash and around the headlight switch. Not around the radio or console area. I think it looks better than the IUP, its a brushed aluminum. Ive been meaning to call the dealer and find out the manufactorer in case I every need to replace a piece. I will find out and post pics.

GT-03..... LOL....I had to internalize the frustration I felt when he came bawling to me telling me he did it. But, I had to give him credit for sucking it up and even being a little scared told me that he scratched my beloved Stang. He is only 7 and that says a lot. On the inside I was thinking "WTF, little man....how the H&11 did you accomplish that...errrr.... rear valence with repainted bumper or Band-aid Sticker that says Car = 0/Child = 4" He has made 3 dings and now this. Hahahahaaha  If I could park it inside an air bouncy house I would. :rlaugh:

Ahhh... Stuff happens.... Makes life interesting.

I too have kids (boy-10yrs, girl-6yrs) and I know EXACTLY how you feel. My grandmother told me just before my son was born, "When you have kids you have nothing else."
I've found the solution though. The car goes in the garage. The kids don't go in the garage. Period. Kids found in the garage at my house are instantly sold to the circus. At least, that's what they've been told. Good luck. :flag:

Nah..the Circus wouldn't want him. He is all thumbs and has two left feet and asks "WHY" all the time. Maybe I could sell him as a copy clerk to a politician or a lobbying firm. :D

Can't keep him out of the garage. We live in a upscale townhome, with no yards or enclosed patio. :( He just needs to lean to be more cautious. And yes.... as parents, everything that is theirs, is their and everything that is ours is theirs. :nice: Just goes with the territory. I own one thing that is "mine"... HIM. Hahahahahahaha for 18 years to life, with possibility of parole when he is mid-20s. :rlaugh: (My dad always said that about child raising, it was akin to a prison sentence. Hahahaha)
