Relocating my overflow bottle....

I need to relocate the overflow. Long story short, i bought a new radiator and it isn't the same size of the stock one. It mounts fine etc but the size difference makes the fan showd no longer fit, so i had to ditch it. This means that right now i have my overflow bottle more or less tied into place up against the radiator/battery tray.

So i need to relocate it properly, as this temp fix is not cool at all. Does anyone have any suggestions?? I still have the stock fan for now (i'm planning on getting a taurus fan but i dont have the money for the alt upgrade yet, maybe in a month or so) so that takes up some of the room. Are there some brackets i could buy to mount it securly to the radiator somehow?

Any suggestions are welcome. I figured with many people using taurus fans there should be a lot of experience here with relocating the overflow, as, if i understand correctly from pics, that mod requires it.

THANKS!!!

With out a shroud on the factory fan you will not have very efficent air flow...

Ditto, the factory shroud is designed to basically pull air from across the entire radiator. Without a shroud you may notice some cooling problems and high temps at idle/lower speeds. I'd think you'd be able to run the Taurus fan, if you already have it, without doing an alt upgrade. I have dual electric fans and am still running the stock alt for the time being.

Parts stores sell generic overflow bottles for 6-8 bucks. It can be tossed inside the fender if need be.

One could also fab a bracket from the rad support to hold the bottle.

Fan info is spot on.

Good luck.

Gonna edit this because something needs to be said here. Ford will not put something on you're car that is un-needed. Remember that when removing or modifying parts. If the car did not need the shroud, they would not have added one. If you dont understand what a part does and you want to remove, make sure you research it first. Good Luck.

I know what the shroud does, and i also know the effects of removing it. I also know that my car is running very cool without it. Even so, though, like i said i intend this to be only temporary until i get the electric.

Thanks for the tips on the overflow.

How about mounting the overflow at the back of the car. Especially if you drag race. Nothing like having the car puke a little water as you're blasting down the track and it get under your tires. Surprised Rick didn't mention this one. LOL

:D I was thinking street car Todd....although mine will have tags and it will be in the back for sure.
