187 Ride or Die?? WTF is this ghetto crap?

I just saw what may be proof of the accelerating decline of American society. Some new game idolizing the rap music culture is hitting the stores soon. From what I could see, its gang members or some crap riding around and shooting at each other from cars they (or myself for that matter) could never afford and crashing into each other. I'm getting really tired of this juvenile, simple minded crap and this materialistic and moronic viewpoint. I have nothing but contempt for this lifestyle and its lack of values. This is so closely related to the import scene and the ricer mindset that I hate it even more. I really hate the ricer culture. :damnit: :fuss: :fuss: :uzi: :chair: :puke:

To sum it up, I picture the ricer types and the people who would buy this ghey azz game to look much like the "Poser Mobile" bunch in that TMobile prepaid wireless commercial.

Okay I'm done. :flag:

WHOOOAAA HOLD UP.

Please do not lump all imports into the "ricer lifestyle". I own and race a couple of import race cars, and do not consider the import crowd any different than the domestic crowd. The only difference is the age group. I know in central florida, there are alot of jackass ricers, but there are just as many jackass domestic owners. You know the ones that think that no import can beat their all might "v8"

Please lets not associate all import owners/racers as ricers.

I agree with you on the ghetto lifestyle. Over the past few years it has become cool to act/be a ghetto thug. And our society praises it.

It is just like all the gay/lesbian crap. MTV even has gay dating shows now.

Is our country and world in a decline? You better flippin' believe it. Im just glad I was born when I was so I will be dead before it gets worse.

Not flaming here, but I read the guys post, and I don't see where you got all that stuff.

Where did he say ALL import drivers are ricers?

Where did he say no V8 can be beaten by a import?

Don't make something out of nothing. If you have something to say in rebuttal to his comments, say them. Thats how forums work. But don't come on here and fabricate responses to non-existant statments.

the GTA games are awsome well not sure about san andreas never played that much but GTA 3 is like the best. I don't like rap music one bit which is why I choose to use the the thing where i can put my own music into the game. I'm also not for running around and killing people but sometimes in games its fun good anger release. Not saying this new game aint gonna suck but GTA is awsome

I'm not saying all import owners are ricers. Likewise, not all those with the ricer or ghetto mentality drive imports. It is the general lack of respect for the law and society, and the glamorizing and championing of materialistic, misogynistic, and misguided values that really irritates me. I don't care for the dorky looking sideways caps. The sheer stupidity and ridiculous look of baggy pants gives me conflicting feelings of aggravation and sympathy for those who wear them. I don't want to see their boxers, and I might respect them more if they took the time to try on their pants at the store. I cringe when I hear what passes for common English these days. I don't care how many video screens you can fit in your vehicle, I dont play video games or watch movies in traffic. LED's are for indicator lights and high end flashlights, NOT washer nozzles, valve stem caps, pedals, shift knobs, or other useless crap. Vinyl is not a performance mod. If you like your music, FINE. Don't play it so loud my daughter or wife or anyone else has to hear it. I don't care if your car can jump higher than me, or what the largest set of rims you can shoehorn under your wheel wells looks like. I'll be generous and say anything larger than 19" on a passenger car is just an expensive pissing contest with cheap chrome. Huge mufflers and exhaust on a 130HP car is a display of one's ignorance of automotive concepts. Likewise, a huge wing on a car that won't see 120mph falling off a cliff is beyond overkill.

Some imports I do like. Tastefully done, powerful and well engineered cars of any origin gain my respect. I am an automotive enthusiast. My problem is not so much with the cars, as it is with the people who increasingly seem to be driving them, import or otherwise. It pains me to see this nation and society spiral increasingly faster into moral decay and apathy. Some of what I said above relates to matters of personal taste (poor as it may be), but a portion of it addresses problems with society that are widespread and more far reaching than they seem on the surface, i.e. the lack of good values, the refusal to treat others with respect, the mistreatment of women, the acceptance and glamorizing of violence, the dangerous driving habits and disregard for the law and others' personal safety, etc., etc. These problems, if not unchecked, can only continue to contribute to the atmosphere of lawlessness and disrespect for fellow human beings that troubles many of us right now.

Thus endeth the sermon.

The "ghetto life style" as you call it is no different/better then the heavy metal/rock scene imo. They both degrade society so to just point out one group is foolish.

:D :jester:

Maybe you are right. I am a proud product of the metal/rock scene. It didn't seem to be as violent though, as compared to rap music. I am 30 years old. I just don't care for this whole scene I guess. I needed to vent. I just hate to see what kind of world my little girl is going to be living in in a few years. Don't even get me started on what passes for clothing for teenagers lately. :damnit: I know I sound old, and I don't care.

They are both violent in there own way 1.Rap condones slappin biothes, selling drugs, and drinking expensive liquors 2. Metal/Rock condones suicide, drug abuse, and alcohol abuse. They both have their down falls which is why I listen more to late 80& early 90's rap (not as bad as todays), and late 80's rock (Cinderella/Skid row :hail2: ). As far as clothes these little girls are being allowed to wear there parents need a goood beating. I do agree todays music is not making this new society any better to live in :nonono:

wow, didnt know a game would hype up so many people. i didnt really read all the posts, i kinda skimmed them, but i guess ill put my worthless 2 pennies in this thing.

this is the way life is, and it's not changning anytime soon. im not fond of the fact that they are putting water barrells between the Mexico and US border so the illegal immigrants trying to run over the border dont die from thirst. there is nothing anyone can do about it, so open your minds a little and just brush it off. everything in this world that doesnt directly affect you is just a grain of sand in the wind.

now, who wants a beer?

Build a concrete wall 20 feet high and 5 feet thick with checkpoints every 100 miles all across the US / Mexico boarder. As soon as the wall is completed, make everyone in the US at that time a US citizen. Done deal. Everyone not in the US at that time will be considered illegal.

In terms of the original topic, in a way I agree. I was raised on good ol' fashioned tuck in your shirt, don't swear, open the door for your mother/wife/girlfriend, etc values. I think that any lifestyle / media that degrades these values isn't worth much of anything. Its just basic good manners and common sense. Listen to "Help Somebody" by Van Zant, it will pretty much some up how I was raised and my feelings on the matter.

I disagree in that you have the right to act any way you want, or listen to any kind of music you want, and if you want your azz to hang out of your pants well thats your perogative. I have a feeling my ancestors didn't die for those particular liberties, but if you want to stretch them thats fine. But when that lifestyle interferes with mine, thats the issue.

If this lifestyle wants my respect, then they have to show it first. When I meet you, if you're clothes are ridiculous, you swear profusely, play your music at obnoxious levels, you mistreat your girlfriend, show no respect for the law, and when you meet me you don't shake my hand firmly and look me in the eye when you do it (no, the three step handshake does not count), then you're not showing me respect and you're definately not going to get mine. I just think that its funny how that is a pretty similar view from a lot of people. Especially being in San Diego where immigration is a pretty hot topic all the time, i have had this discussion before. I always find it humerous how a country FOUNDED on imigrants some how can turn so inward and hateful to all others trying to make a better life for themselves in this world. Immigrant labor is such a huge thing for the united states of america and no one seems to know it. These immigrants are the people who pick 90% of the produce in this country for next to nothing allowing us all to go to Vons and get some cheap food for our families. If we had to pay all farm workers minimum wage SHI T that food would be pretty damn expensive. The janitors the food service workers and bus boys, and that is just a tiny piece of what immigrant labor does here in the united states. We need them just as much as they need us even thought it hurts so much for us to admit that. We are a country that is founded on immigration but somehow it becomes we were here first(actually second) and you cant come in now. Its so childish. IF people want to make a better life for themselves and leave their families to work here in America that is a brave thing to do. Theres my couple cents.

Exactly very well said but I will say this, if any immigrant comes to the U.S. do it right and be registered. They should pay taxes to live here as I have to, keep it fair plain and simple.

Very true people should pay taxes, but several things work into that, firstly most especially the farm workers are getting payed so little taking taxes out would be even more of a stretch for them. Also most illegal immigrants that work in mainstream buisnesses or resturants do so on a fake social security number to get real paychecks. Which means that they ARE paying taxes and into social security and they will NEVER be able to collect on that because then it would become pretty obvious that their socials were fake.
Another thing is that America doesnt allow that many immigrants into the country each year, and its a long and tedious task to enter the united states and become a true citizen, legally. So for people whos families are starving and living in poverty they dont want to go through the year long(usually longer) process of becoming a legal citizen.

my last thought on the random mexican topic i brought up. My father came here from the Philippines when he was 22. Im not 'hateful or inward' about immigration. If he had to became a citizen the right way, everyone one should. just because the picket fence is easy to jump doesnt mean come on in.

Exactly. My ancestors came to this country with little more then a couple potatoes and still became legal citizens of the country. Furthermore, they didn't expect the US to adopt their culture, or change their customs, or enact special legislation where even though they werent citizens they should be allowed to vote and recieve federal aid. They just kept working at it.

If you want to improve your way of life then thats fine. But don't do it to the detriment of mine. I don't mind the government using my taxes to give families in trouble a hand up, but to think that MY government uses MY money that I WORKED FOR to give handouts to people who AREN'T CITIZENS really pisses me off. :bang: And that instead of going through the admitted hassle of becoming a citizen, they are fine to fly under the radar and reap the benefits.
