Just got my Tourch Red GT w/ auto, but i need to know which tuner is the best getting rid of the laggy throttle(Predator or XCalibrator 2) . Car is stock for the time being, C&L CAI will be next as with magnaflow axle backs. Want tune to be for 87 octane since gas is 3.06 for reg here, and to tightn up shifts.

Thanks, David

I wouldn't take a Diablo Predator if it was given to me for free. There is no comparison between SCT and Diablo. Diablo is having way more problems tuning the 05 mustang than SCT. Diablo tuned cars are having part throttle problems as well as cars going into fail-safe mode. Makes the choice real easy.

I've heard that about both tuners.

I know there is some cars tuned by SCT having issues but Diablo is having MORE ISSUES THAN SCT. I know of 05 Mustangs suffering engine damage using Predators. In fact it wasn't all that long ago that Nick from Diablo posted here and other places trying to get everyone to ensure they are running the latest tune updates, hmmm, I wonder why. Actually I don't, but I have a good idea that I know why Diablo wanted that. I don't know of any SCT tuned 05 Mustangs being damaged by tunes.

I too will eventually end up with a tuner for mine as well. I have a diesel ford pickup and before settling on my scmt I have now, I tried the diablosport predator. In the ford diesels those things were engine busters I couldnt belive the EGT's I saw with this thing at wot. Something like 1700-1800 F when 1300 is all they allow. I had exhaust and cai and all that. Unreal, I sent it back and got my money back. I think that is why I am hesitant to buy into that product again. Thank god it didnt blow the turbo.

First tune from mustangtuning and sct xcal2 was throwing me cel codes, telling me I was running lean. Someone from SCT jumped right onto my post on their forum and sent me a new tune, plus disabled tcs, then sent me 3 additional tunes, just in case. great customer service, plus the user end adjustability is nice. Just change what I want, plus in the XCal2 via usb, and upload the new tune. :nice:

I bought the Predator right when it came out. No issues from day one! I have the Steeda CAI & 91/93 Octane tune for it installed. I have read here and elsewhere pros and cons on both the DSP and the SCT I & II. The DSP was recommended by my Ford Dealer Service Tech as the one they have seen the least problems with in the past. BTW...they have no issues with use of the DSP on a Mustang in warranty either. The only issue I have with the DSP is with the several updates to the core SW on it. I have upgraded it each time a new upg comes out. Actually saw a few improvements in r21 over the previous upg's. r23 is out now and I will update mine this weekend. Such is the world of the computer controled engine management systems! lol My two cents!
