295/45/18's fit on 10" wheels in the back and up to 275/40/18's in the front on 9" wheels. Some are looking at 19x11 and 305's in the rear.
Personally, I wouldn't use either of those sizes. The diameter of the rears is WAY too big and the front's too small.
When choosing tires, first decide what size wheels they'll be going on. (i.e. 17's, 18's or 19's) Then decide how wide you'd
like them to be. Then everything else is decided for you.
Your goal is to get as close to a 27.2" tire diameter as possible so you don't have to recalibrate your speedometer, odometer, and tripometer. And you don't want to increase your wheel well gap.
Here are the correct tire sizes if you're putting 18's on a new Mustang.
255/45/18
265/45/18
285/40/18
295/40/18
That's it if you want to lower the car. So all you have to do, since you know you want 18's, is choose how wide you want. If you get the right offset on the wheels, all those sizes will fit.
