I had my fuggin keys stolen at the gym recently :fuss: and worried that whoever the thief is, my car might be a target. I doubt he knows where I live, but if he sees my car it's pretty much his for the taking right now. What are my options for car security? I have a Club, but he has the key to the Club also. I'm thinking about also getting a clutch/brake pedal lock. Can I take my keyless entry system to Ford and change out the chip to where it also disables the key entry on the doors and trunk? Are there alarms where it also disables the key entry? I'm thinking completely changing the keys will be too expensive (I'm a college student), but hoping that Ford or a good alarm can disable this thief from entering my car at all. Thank you all VERY MUCH for the help.

An alarm won't keep anyone out of your car with keys. If you have a starter disable, it might keep them from starting it. For real securtiy, you don't have a lot of choices. One change the locks or two hope he never tries to take your car.

Are u sure they were stolen or just misplaced/lost? Sorry no real solution that is foolproof besides changing the lock cylinders.

replacing a lock set your looking at 1 hr. labor per cylinder plus parts,so figure about $400+

The remotes are the ones programmed to the module,so you would need to replace the module.

Get a alarm with 2 way paging,so at least you have a idea when it goes off.

I'm pretty sure it was stolen, even my lock was cut off.

I'll look into that starter disable alarm, thanks.

/\ not a bad idea, just dont get that stolen our your gonna need to by a club. then pretty soon, you'll have that thing, a club, the brake "club" and a kill switch+alarm. :nonono:

whooooo its gonna take a while to go anywhere.

either sell the car or get the locks changed safest bet

I personally like Clifford's line of alarms. The real cliffords, not "matrix". I have a Clifford with Intellistart on my L, and love it. For an extra little bit of security, you can get an option called BlackJax, even if they have your keys, they can start it and drive the car for around 30 seconds before it shutsoff unless they input the code that only you know.
