Ok, so you guys are going to find this a little strange, but i was wondering if i could make my 05 GT make the wHOOSH sound that the turbo'd cars have with the blow off valve. Could i do that with a supercharger, or do i have to turbo it for that, or is there a way to make it sound like that without any of that. I just really like that sound and thought you guys could help answer my question. Thanks.

1. Turbos have blow-off valves that make that sound.

2. Centrifugal superchargers have surge valves that make a similar sound.

3. Ricers have fake blow-off valves that make a fake sound and makes them look like idiots.

I recommend you choose either option 1 or 2. Forget about number 3, pretend it's not even an option.

thanks kris, do you know which superchargers have the surge valves? I was looking into the procharger and the kenne bell, would they have it, or would i have to add it myself...because some of the supercharged cars i have heard dont have that sound.

All boosted cars have to have it. The blow off valve is for when the charger is making more pressure than the engine wants and that pressure has to go somewhere. Kinda like a pressure relief valve on a water heater.

get your mothers empty paper towel roll, and while yor driving, lower your window aprox 2" and carefully insert the end out thru the opening. then each time the car shifts, gently place your lips on the end and blow thru it making the whoosh noise that youd like to hear, but be very careful and dont lose control of your vehicle while doing this. imho. :D

Remember It Realy Doesn't Matter What It Sound Like If It Doesn't Perform. IF SOUND IS WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR. I Would Be More Concerned With Makeing The Exhaust Louder. AND I WOULD ALSO HAVE THE SUPERCHARGER.
Just My 2 Cents.

there is a twin turbo out for the Mustang. It is from a company called STS Turbo. It is a remote mounted setup where the turbos are located where your mufflers are. Looks OK but there is a lot of plumbing under the car including the oil lines. Would be quite a lot to repair/replace if the driveshaft went south.

Forget turbos! Turbo lag = :notnice: But then again, most centrifugals have to build boost too.

The surge on my Chevelle's ProCharger sounds pretty cool. I haven't heard it on the 05 kit in person yet. Give me another 2 weeks. :D
