water spots on windows

On most modern cars steel wool is NOT your ideal medium to use. In fact I believe FORD states in the car manual to not use steel wool of any grade on your glass.

For tough water spots try clay first and then use straight vinegar as a wash if that doesn't work. The vinegar may need several applications.

Why not try glass cleaner made for this. I saw some at O'Reilly's just the other day. It is made for glass, but has some abrasives in it to get glass clean again. It is in a tube and kinda resembles wax, but not exactly.

Straight white vinegar is definitly the way to go :hail2: .
You might also be able to remove some tough one with a sharp window scrapper.
