Yesterday I took my Stang to a local car show. It wasn't very big, but there were maybe 20 cars there. I had the only new Stang. A freind of mine, from these boards, brought his V6 2002. The other cars were typical: An 80's Firebird, A late 90's Camaro SS, and about six stingrays. One suprise was to see an old Model A Ford from the 30's. My father and I will be working to restore one of those very soon. Anyway, it was alot of fun. I didn't win any prizes though.

Alot of people were taking good long looks at my car and one couple started talking to me about how I like because they were thinking of getting a new V6.

O I almost forgot. I waited for it and I got it at the end of the night! These two guys that pulled their stingray up next to my car came over and were looking at my car and pointing at it and talking about it. They both then came over to me and said: "Is this your car." I said "Yes." Then they said: "This is such a beautiful car man. Why didn't you get the V8?"

I knew it had to happen. Ah, the posturing people love to involve themselves in. Oh well.

Anyway, just thought I'd post something to talk about. Not sure if you really can, but hey, I'm BORED!!!!! :D

Did you ask them why they wanted a car made of plastic?
On a different note, why don't old cars show up at car shows anymore. There are many 1940s, 1950s and 1960s cars out there.
No offense, but why should car shows focus on new cars? Where are the OLD classics?

I can imagine that it can get pretty annoying for someone who drives a V6 stang to get asked why they didn't get the V8. You are right about it being a legit question 199, but just b/c you have a bigger engine, doesn't mean you should be a dick about it. I am not saying you were being a dick, I can just imagine some people may come off souding arrogant when they ask the question.

I bought an 05' V6 after 20 years of owning V8 Mustangs. Right now, the V6 just made sense. Could i have bought a V8 again? Sure. There was one the same color as mine right next to it only 5k more than mine, but I just wanted something that made sense to me!

No one has asked me "WHY" I didn't buy a V8, most people are just too busy drooling over it. This car reminds me of my 65 fastback. A car that i loved. It was a straight 6 and honestly felt like it made its own gas. LOL!

To each, their own. Thats why Ford makes a V6 model.

No offense 199, but he bought a V6 so he can buy a $600 Nitrous kit from Zex, and put 439RWTQ on the stock engine without any internal or external modifications and run 12's in the 1/4 mile...

Now that he can do this, he has saved enough money to take his family on vacation for the next 5 years every summer, because he pays about $2500 less per year in insurance..

So like he said, it made sense to him to buy a badass V6.. You know the 05-06 V6 Stangs, are pretty tough and brutal Stangs.. Looks and terms like V6 as opposed to V8 can be deceiving.. You better make sure if you come at an 05 or 06 V6 Stang, you come with NOS or Boosted, cause if you dont, it wont be a pretty sight if a V6 smokes you by 5 or 6 car lengths! :nice:
