I know they sell multiple rear seat delete kits, but none really give that 2 seater feeling....can one of those covers meant for a vert fit in a coupe? or is the vert just 2 diffrent?

I think it is a good idea. Maybe someone could fab something up like that. I like the way C5 Vettes look in the back...something similar would be cool as I never use my back seats. I don't like how rear seat delete kits leave the sides sticking out (where the side of the seats are. there's like 4" sticking out).

I would think if there was any way to put one in, you would have to take the seats out first. they do make a 2 part cover that is split in the middle so that might be the way you want to go. another option is to make you own out of fiberglass. other than a lot of hours in making it and taking you time, it shouldn't be too hard.

he wants to make it a two-seater and have a corvette look behind the seats. someone got a low score in elementry reading comprehension :rlaugh: .

haha, ur funny

lets see... vette's only have the tonneu cover for verts, meaning it's not the same in coupes. maybe the original poster was referring to the mustang targa top conversion which is like the coupe vettes... other than that, i don't really understand a coupe w/ a tonneu cover, just doesn't make sense me

What you should do is research how to fiberglass and do a rear seat delete but make a wall for subs/amps/whatever. Or just make a creative "wall" that comes out further.

I dont think you will have much luck using a vert. cover. Since it probably wont fit and you spend a couple hundred for something that you have to modify. So start out with cheap supplies and do a custom piece.

no no, what he means is that he wants to use a tonnaeu cover in his coupe to cover up the rear seats and go for more of a 2-seater roadster look inside. i think it's pretty clever, but the fit isn't going to be right since it's designed for verts. there will be some hacking involved, and for that price, i'd rather try and make my own than spend all that money on one and hack 30% off.

see, nmc and i are on the same page

The Tonneu cover does come in one or two piece. I think CDC, and California mustang has them. The will not fit in the coupe, but it would be a good Idea to use one to make a mold for the the center section.

I think that would be pretty cool, I get what you are talking about. And I think it can be done. There would be alot of fiberglass fab work involved. But I think that it is possible, and a pretty damn good idea.

The depth of the piece would prevent you from getting it in the vehicle, so you might have to look into the 2 piece route... Hell it might be cheaper just to buy a 2 piece tonneu and modify it to work in the coupe, either way there will be fab work involved...

Keep us posted, you now have my attention.... :nice:
