overall the nittos because of prince and longevity vs very little loss of performance.

KDW is beter overall tire, though it costs more and wears faster the KDW will out grip the 555 day in and day out be it corner, strait, dry, or wet.

but for overall the 555 has my vote.

the KDW2s i had did hold up even after i wore through the bands in the tire. the guy that pulled the tire off the rim called me back into the shop and held my tire up to the sun out back... you could see spots where light was discernable on the center of the tire.... kinda scary feeling to know they were that shot (yes i know it should have been changed sooner) but the KDW never gave me ANY problems. just wish it lasted longer.

That's awesome. I just bought a set of 295/275 KDW's. How many miles did you get on them? I've heard 15k-25k. I drive light and don't go to the track, and RARELY will I EVER burn out. :notnice:

If your cars an everyday driver and money doesnt grow on trees, you'll be happier to have a tire thats alittle less sticky amd outlasts 2 sets of BFG's.

By the way, for what its worth... I cut a pair of 1.7x 60's on stock size 245/45/17 Nitto's, stock suspension, swaybar, etc.... also got 12k miles out of them with 100+ track passes.

You gotta love'em :hail2:

The KDW's on my car were on there for a little over 15,000 miles when i bought the car and have lasted 10,000 more miles so far.. and i expect to see another 10-15,000 more miles.. i rarely go to the track, but do a lot of street racing

The KDW2s look cool, but the KDWs I have on the front arent that mind-blowing. Nittos seem to have less tread and may be better for dry weather driving (all I do). I'm not impressed by my Pilot Sports either (they are great when warm, but suck when cold). BFG drags on the rear next time, not sure what front tire...

Are we talking about the 555Rs or 555s? There is a difference lol, im pretty sure the thread starter was reffereing to 555s, not the DRs. I woulnt mind trying the regular 555s, but I think ill get those V groved 315s next time. I need some wet grip, the kumhos work but they are just 285s so they are a little narrow.
