I've installed my Y2K Cobra R hood on my 2002 GT and all seems to be lined up well; however the hood latch will not catch. No matter how much pressure I put on the hood. Gotta be careful how much pressure since it's fiberglass.

Anyhow I've tried repositioning the latch and hood but still no luck. Anybody have experience with this that could provide some hints?

Thanks,

Pat

There are several threads on shimming hood latches. Also, there are two rubber supports on threaded shafts at the front which adjust hood heigth. Have you tried screwing these in some to allow the hood to drop a little?

Yeah - I dropped the supports all the way. I may need to shim it more. I did shim it about 1/4 inch. I'll probably just take it to the shop and see what they come up with.

Thanks though.

I do not think you should have to shim it that much. I think at this point the body shop is the way to go. Make sure the hood is secured when you drive there of course...

I'm going to try one more time to make some adjustments then it's off to the body shop.

Thanks for the help.
