guys what size gas tank, how many gallons?

thats what i was afraid of. im only getting like 12.5 miles to the gallon. :damnit:

how the hell is this possible? you think its the cam? i didnt think id loose that much gass mileage with it.

this is only the first time i filled up since i got the h/c install. right now i have 145 miles and only have 1/4 tank left, s oi figure i will end up with about 200. judging by the gas needle.

i have been on it pretty hard though taking people for rides letting them feel the new power. also one ls1 race. maybe that effected it a bit. :D i still didnt think it would be that bad, i might as well buy a viper.

I probably already know the answer to my question ( as stupid as it may be) but does your Tune compensate for the odometer/speedometer with your 3:73s? That is if you're figuring your MPG by pumped gallons/Trip odometer mileage.

By the way... nice ride, wish I had some of your mods. :nice:

I would hope so; if not, hope it didn't cost too much.

thanks for the compliment man1 also thanks for the answer guys i thought that seemed a bit bed. i guess im getting around 15-16 miles to the gallon then.

yes the diablo chip has everything burnt right into it for the gears and everything.

guess the mileage is gone down because of the cams, thats my guess. its worth it though. its not my daily driver.

im gonna hate to see the mileage when the blower goes on. :owned:

MPG?? Why the heck is that even discussed here? We drive Mustangs.. poor gas mileage is an inherent thing with driving V8's. Big... friggen... deal.
:rlaugh:  I agree, but at $3.00 a gallon, it's hitting everyone pretty hard. At $2.00, it didn't bother me much, but $3.00...jeez...this is pricey...especially with 2 GTs in the garage, both needing high octane fuel. It does not stop me from driving fast or adding crap that makes me want to drive even faster, but these prices impact us all.
ADRENLN, how are you calculating your MPG? Do this, fill the tank, reset the odometer, then when you refill it next time, divide the miles on the odometer by the number of gallons it took to fill the tank. (Then, reset the odometer and do it all over again.) If it makes you feel any better, we get about 16 MPG in both GTs around town. On the highway, cruising in 5th gear, it's much better, around 24 MPG.

A 16 post (and counting) thread about gas tank size. :rlaugh:
Yeah, but at least it has a bit of tech to it. True though, this is rather f'd, cause the answer, admitted by the original thread starter, was right in the owner's manual - he was asking if it's true....naw, it's full of lies. I wish more people read the owners manual...and didn't question its validity. Secondly, I wish more people owned (and read) a Hanyes manual (or the like). There is a ton of valuable info in em.

i only questioned it because some of the things in the owners manual seem to be questionable, like how many qts. of oil. so i figured id ask a quick true or false question. :D at least i read it, most come on here not even bothering to read asking question that they have the answer to. i was just makin sure because my mileage seemed way off.

i didnt think about the fact that i should subtrack 2 gallons. im not really complaining about gas, i wouldnt have bought or modded a stang. i hear on here that people are getting 18mpg and i thought i was getting 13. i thought somthing might be wrong. only reason i asked.

not too concerned with mpg, im getting a blower :nice:

I am at 8 MPG now... Boy... my ass hurts at the pump...

The tank capacity IS 15.7 gallons. You will never be able to put 15.7 gallons in unless you totally drain the tank. I can't believe some of you don't know how to calculate mpg...

1. Fill the tank.
2. Record the mileage on your odometer.
3. Drive the car.
4. Fill the tank again.
5. Record the number of gallons required to fill it.
6. Record the mileage on your odometer.
7. Subtract the mileage noted in 2 from 6.
8. Divide the miles calculated in 7 by the gallons recorded in 5. That is your miles per gallon.
9. Enroll in 5th grade math class.

PS: I get 7 mpg in town and 14 mpg on the highway.
