Hi,

my T-45 has to be replaced with something I can afford now (so TKOs and T56 are out of the game).
Someone in my neighborhood is parting out a 2002 V6 Mustang.

What kind of tranny is in these cars stock and will it fit in my GT, keeping the clutch and the drivetrain? Will it take the torque of a V8?

Thanks,
Blumi

u can't find T-45 cheap? if you look, there can be cheap one out there. I for one found T-45 out of 2001 GT with 22000miles on it for $250..

edit
oh I just noticed that your in Germany...good luck finding T-45 there i guess

yeah man - there are some but they go for more than new ones in the States. I even ask a FORD dealer about a new T-45. His offer: $3700.

Anyway, I just found out that the 99+ V6s use the old T5 trannies. So these are no option, too.

Regarding the price for a T-45 I really don't want to know that.

If I had the money and the time I would make a 2 week-holiday in your country, buy a tranny and ship it for my own. And I bet it will be less than $3700 all in all (incl. 14 hotel-nights and flights)

Thanks, kovacs22.
I know the T45 sells for $999 new.
But I need a decent shipping company to get it over the ocean. USPS or any other of the usual suspects won't take it.

Plus all the taxes it would cost around $1500 to have it at my door.

At least try calling D&D to see if they can help you. Are you a German Citizen or a US Servicemen serving in Germany?

D&D has a waaay cheaper price than any dealer will on a new T45, i worked in a ford service department and i payed %20 over cost, i guarantee i woulda payed over $2,000 for a T45, anyway back to the point just check with D&D and any way you figure it, it'll be cheaper than your $3,700 over there...and BTW most importantly you cannot use a V6 trans, the T5 bolts up to the 3.8 v6s and 5.0 v8s as far as i know, however i beleive you can change the bell housing on a T5 whereasa T45 bell is part of the casing it self.

hope this helps!
