Question for everyone that has 20 inch rims. Did you also lower your car? If you did, how much and do you rub anywhere? Also what size tire do you run? Would like to get 20s when I get my car but also want to lower. Looking to get rid of the gap between the fenderwells.

I droped my car 2" with sportline springs and I run 20" GT-R wheels 285x30x20 rear 255x35x20 front. I have no problems rubbing and I like the ride. You dont want to drive down any roads with bad pot holes though.

can you post a pic of you setup. that is what I am looking to do.
thanks

I've got the Eibach Pro kit which dropped the car approx. 1". I run the same size tires stated above and there are no issues. Speed bumps are no problem :nice:

Hey
Could u post some pics of yr setup. :nice:

If you got the last 5.0 mag, the cover stang has 22's. I have a 95 with 20's, 255/35's all around and lowered with the eibach pro kit. no rub after I rolled my fenders. I'm sure you could easily drop your 2 or 2 1/2 inches with no prob since you ave a lot more room than I do. I see a lot of them around town.

Did you guys have to put Caster/Camber plates on your lowered cars? I had to on my 93 that was only lowered 1 1/2 inches. I want 20's but don't want to have to buy new tires every 5000 miles. That's how long my tires lasted before the camber plates.

Also, does anyone make Caster/Camber plates yet?

I also saw in another thread that an adj. panhard bar is needed. Did you guys need this?

Thanks.

Caster/camber plates are not available and won't work on the s197. I lowered mine with eibach pros and ended up with alignment issues after the drop. Ford's fix is to install some offset bolts to give the front suspension some adjustment. I gave up on the Ford $500 alignment job and had the car set up with a little extra toe in to compensate for the extra camber. My car did not need the adjustable panhard bar. The rear was in spec after the drop. I have been told that the caster should not have been off so my sugestion to anyone lowering your car is to have the alignment checked BEFORE lowering. If the car is out of spec Ford will install the bolts needed under warrenty and you'll have the adjustability you need after lowering your car.

Thanks for the reply jlisle01. Sounds like it may not be worth the added expense of tires and alignments to have the car lowered, even though it looks incredible.

When I lowered my 93 the Ford dealer aligned it to the best of their ability and the tires still only lasted 5000 miles. It also would follow every little bump in the road and yank the steering wheel left or right.

Here is a picture of a car at stock ride height with 20's. I don't think it looks that bad, how about you guys?

Has anyone else had problems like this? How do the Saleens get away with it?
