Supercharger blew PCV valve out...

when going to a sc set up your suppose to use valve cover vent/arfilter set up .
your lucky you didnt blow your rear main seal.
I only know this because i couldnt figure out y i kept blowing valve cover after valve cover gasket. but if you think abought it all the positive presure your pcv is suppose to vent into your intake is doing one big circle and it has no were to go .hope i shed some light on this .
Also do a search on my name i had this problem others like hissin50 and mr micheal yount helped me a great deal.

There are mixed reviews on that actually. Even though a lot of people use them to reduce the pressure you really don't want to introduce the un-metered air that comes from those breathers.

Did you change the PCV when you did the install? Did you disconnect the vacuum line that goes from the T/B to the oil filler?

Or run a forced induction PCV (from a TC, Supra, etc).

Shtty's idea is very common in my experience. The A/F ratio is so dynamic with forced induction that many do just fine with the unmetered air. I would not want to run so lean that a little unmetered air makes any difference.

Either way can be made to work.

Good luck.

I didnt change the pcv valve when I did the blower and I didnt disconnect the line from the TB to the filter. Should I give that a shot also?

ya disconect the line from the tb and plug it i belive i goes to the valve covers plug that to that takes care of unmetered air......worked for me with no problems i had a paxton with the vr4 upgrade running 13psi

You MUST disconnect the line going from the oil filler tube to the TB and plug the nipple on the throttle body. If you don't do this you are allowing boost to enter the crankcase.

Also, I would highly reccomend getting a PCV valve from a turbocharged 95 Toyota Supra. It will help greatly will blow-by issues. I have one on my car and it works real well. I only had to empty my oil separator once a month when my car was daily driven.

DO THIS IMMEDIATELY!!

:stupid:
Screw everything else until you have disconnected that line first. Make sure you buy a vacuum line cap for the Throttle Body and the hole on the side of the oil filler tube as well. I would bet that leaving that line connected was causing the PCV to blow out.

"To much pressure captain!!................I'm giving her all she's got"

you guy realy make a big deal of disconecting that line. ive seen and heard of cars with the line conected and runing valve cover style breathers with no loss of power and none what so every drivibilty promblems .its not a must like must take the metal shavings out the oil pan commonit really does nothing at all....
only reason i did mine like that because it make sense and its the right way.
Tge must is get valve cover breathers

For one, the breather is not the answer and I wouldn't even reccomend it myself. For two, removing that line is exactly what he needs to do. It is a clear step for any S/C install and leaving it hooked up will cause bigger problems.

So yes it is a big deal and he could have a clogged PCV anyway. That too is yet another skipped step during his S/C install. All the blowers I have installed say you need to replace it.

All we are doing is offering him the right advice, you seem to just be telling him what fixed your car.

wow little hostile huh?
I do realive you should plug the tb and oil hose line and cap it. But all the sc setups ive seen done right either have beathers or braided line off the vavle covers dumping into the exhaust.
you stop with all the agression I do know what im talking abought just do a search and see who uses what and works if my words not good enough .

Thanks so much guys, thought I was gonna have to take the SC off or something. I will deff. be putting a supra/turbo coupe pcv valve in, taking that line off and route new ones. Ill let you all know what happens this weekend with it, maybe some imports will be........ :owned:

Thanks again :nice:

How much did it cost you to get yours tuned?

A chip tune will cost around $500. A basic dyno run A/F check with minor adjustments like timing and FMU cal dic shouldn't cost more than $120.

Just call around and talk to local tuners before you drive there to get quotes :nice:
