Looks like I'm in the minority - MGW shifter isn't for me

stock handle fit on the tri-ax with no modifications at all. I will take a pic if you'd like...

A pic would be great. :)

Umm way not pick up a red handle?

After you posted that, I considered that option & went on a hunt for pictures of the red handle. I finally found a few pics, but it looks like the red handle really isn't much taller than the orange. :(

I should have done more research before buying the MGW. It's a nice product and it is definitely quiet, but the handle just doesn't cut it for me. Why can't there be a "green handle" or something for those who sit a little further back?

I'll take one tonight and post it tommorow. (no internet at the house) I also have the original tri-ax handle if you'd like to do the pro 5.0 and tri-ax hybrid. Pm me if interested.

I'm trying to visualize what you've done to make this work.. do the Tri-Ax handle bolts slide through the stock handle w/ isolator holes?.. did you buy longer bolts? I could have sworn the Steeda bolts wouldn't fit through there. I was close to just going Pro5.0 with the stock handle bushings, but if your method works I'll do that. :)

Don't remember exactly how I did it. I really don't remember any modification but its definately possible that I used longer bolts. I'm pretty sure I didn't have to drill out the holes in the stock handle.

Its in the middle. No its not as short as a shift as the full shifter but its shorter than stock. Its not as precise as shift but is better than stock. Also its as comfortable as stock and as quiet as stock. Its definately not a combination for pure track use but my car (just like 99.99% of mustangs) are not dedicated race cars.

Nice work, and thanks for the pics! :nice: Glad to know this is an option too, and I'm thinking of rolling with it.

My point exactly. I just want something better than stock, but not at the expense of comfort. I will probably never run my car at the track.. the only thing I ever race is the clock. I enjoy cruising my car much more than redlining & powershifting. Back in my 5.0 days, I felt differently. :)

So you are going for the Tri-Ax, I take it?

I think so.. I liked it in my Gt, but it was kinda noisy. I still have the MGW sitting on my kitchen table, so before I order a Tri-Ax I'd like to see a few ebay bids first. I remember once someone posted over on SVTperformance that you never see anyone trying to trade an MGW for a Tri-Ax, but rather the other way around.. well.. I'm that guy now. Who's trading me? :D
