Wierd Problem with new tires.

I put on some 235/55/16 Summoto HR4's, and ever since I have got them put on the car feels like im driving with slicks. Pressure is at 38, and I also had new B springs put in. I attributed the problem to the new springs needing broke in but im not so sure now. When I am driving around 40 mph it starts feeling "squirrley" it almost feels like im driving with slicks. As if the side walls were weak and allowing the car to sway back and forth.... it sucks, I almost lose it when I get on it hard at about 50mph. is this the springs or the tires?

Sounds stupid, but some makers put a preservitive spray on the tire to keep up a longer shelf life. More you drive on them ( or burn it a few times ) they will wear in. For better traction.

not quite on topic, but I just put in B springs too and adjusted everything as straight as possible, but for some reason it is wearing bad, and only on the innermost 1.5 inches of the tire, at like a perfect 30 degree angle.

Just wondering if you have gotten a chance to see your tire wear with those springs

yup i agree with maverick...you probly did not calculate the overall diamter correctly and now have a car with a taller sidewall and a really hard compound so it doesnt feel very planted...

check all the parts messed with during the spring install...i assume you had it done by what it sounds like....check the bolts and maybe the little stabilizer links on the sway bar....check the lugs and maybe the wheel bearings too

Its because the car calls for at least a "V" of "Z" speed rated tire.yours are "H",,its more of a performance all season tire(Bigger sidewalls) I did the same thing..But the H's are "much" better in the weather!!

definitly drop the air down to 30-32psi.at 38 psi only the middle if the tire is contacting the pavement.it'll just prematurly wear the centers of your tires out like that.too little air will wear the inside and outside edges out.

did you have the car aligned at a shop, changing the springs and not having a proper alignment causes your problem. if it was done ,does it feel right to you as in going straight or is it drifting to one side.
is the steering wheel off center ?

If you put in B springs and the front tires are wearing on the insides, you may need caster/camber plates. You definitely need an alignment in any case. 400 treadwear tires are not sticky at all. You basically have installed a non-performance tire that has lots of sidewall flex and a hard compound. To make matters worse, your alignment is off. I can only imagine how crappy it must feel to drive your car. Sell the tires and get an alignment and some performance tires. Be prepared to fork out dough for CC plates and another alignment if the shop can't set up your car with the factory plates. Good luck.
