FRPP or Magnaflow catback?

I did do a search and literally spent a few hours reading many of them.

I'm driving in my car at least 7 hours each week and i'm tired and stressed most of those times. I want something a little louder than stock for the weekends. but i need something that will not drone or else it will drive me completely crazy and give me ten times the stress i already have.

From my understanding, the regular Magnaflow catback and the FRPP catback seem to be the least obnoxously loud.

Of those two, which would you guys recommend? I only have $350, and if the setup i choose turns out to have annoying interior drone, i will be absolutely devastated because i'll probably won't even have the money to have the stock catbacks welded back. (poor college student--all my money goes in the car/insurance payment)

Well the good news is if you're patient and take a little time to drop the rear axle a couple inches you can take the original catback out without cutting it, so you dont have to reweld it to put it back on.

I think anyway lol. I cut the one off my 01 GT but still had to drop the axle a little bit to get the new bits on.

how much louder is FRPP?

So, i'm assumming that the Magnaflow catback will drone at highway speeds and my best bet for a droneless catback is the FRPP?

How much louder than stock is the Ford Racing Performance Parts catback with stock midpipe and stock headers? I don't plan on adding midpipes or anything else and hope that the catback alone will be enough to give that extra sound. I've read that some people are saying that you could barely notice the difference between stock and FRPP...is that true? and how is the fitment? i read a post over at the corral and someone had one that fitted terribly (left side tip hung two inches lower and right side hung an inch lower than it should be), from the picture he posted.

Thanks for all your help :flag:

It is louder than stock and fits like a factory system. No Prblems at all! :nice:

Hmm... the FRPP sounds like a good option. But I am curious on one thing, it has one part number from '89-'97. I have a '97 is there something I would have to do make work or some other gotcha?

Also, what is meant by droping the axle a 'little'? Letting it hang on the suspension? unbolting it in part?
