it would be sick to get another bay area get together ... together. are there any of them coming up that I should know about?

if I was to start a smaller mustang meet myself, do I need to clear with wherever we are meeting ahead of time to make sure it will be alright?

or how about this... is there any one else out there who wants a gtg in the bay area in the next month or two!?

I know a couple of guys with stangs that i could get to come, and at las positas college, I have seen several mustangs that I could stick flyers in the windows of or whatever. I think it'd be cool to have a meet for livermore, pleasanton, danville, dublin, san ramon etc. anyone agree?

BTW, do you know any shops around I could get a clutch put in? Or any performance shops around?

What year mustang? A basic clutch swap, even if you stick in an aftermarket clutch is nothing special. Any mechanic with basic skiils can do it. There are several how-to guides floating around online if you want to tackle the job yourself. It's not that bad. Give yourself a full day your first time.

I just got back home from the CAfords get together, it was pretty sweet. So I found out that they try to do these meets every month or so, so that was cool.

we met in dublin right off the freeway, ran down tassahara, then highland, then up to vasco through the springtown backroads, and went back via 580 west. It was cool, I didnt have my car, but it was cool to meet a bunch of people anyways.

I definately want to keep going to these meets, and for all the non CA ford posters in the area, I will try and let everyone on stangnet in these forums about these meets.

Well I got a quote from a shop: $700 for a king cobra clutch and install, and $1200 for 3.73's and a rear end rebuild :(

Does this sound about right? Or anyone want to wrench on my car for some extra cash?

Dude, you're getting bent over, 3.73's are ~$450 installed. Call Rear End Specialties in Santa Clara. They've done more gears in stangs than anyone.
The clutch, figure ~$250 in parts + 3-4 hours labor..... $700 doesn't sound too far off, but not great deal either.
