Ok I have a 2002 GT and have had a problem with CC staying on after I push in the clutch. I had to have my CC replaced a while back by ford since it did not work.

Now they are saying that 02's when you push in the clutch it should not turn off CC.

People who have an 02's or similar cars, what does your CC do?

If someone has the manual does it say it in there what turns off CC? My manual is in my car at ford.

Since I won't get my car back for a week, might as well have them TRY to fix something else.

The ford service manual says if it doesn't disengage with the clutch, check the clutch pedal position (CPP) switch.

Measure the resistance between CPP switch Pin 3 and CPP switch Pin 4 while depressing and releasing the clutch pedal.

If the resistance is greater than 10k ohms with clutch depressed, and less than 5k ohms with the clutch released, install a new speed control servo. If not, install a new CPP switch.

HTH.

Mine dissengauges with the break being pressed, and the clutch.

HERE is a new one that i am too scared to try myself...cruizing in 4th @ 60ish with CC on ofcourse...take the shifter and push it into neutral, will it turn off or try to rev the car? The slower you go the more gas it will push right? I think it may rev WAY up, so I dont have the guts to do it...especially since I may screw somthing up just for an experiment lol.

If I do that in my car, its revs until I hit the break. I have seen it get over 5K and I stopped it.

sgarlic Where in the manual so I can point it out to ford when I pay them and the service manager a visit with my service log I put together.

BTW my car is in the shop right now since I blew a cylinder head a month after FORD changed my spark plugs so I got some pull at the moment with them. 8^)

It's in the ford service manual.. the one Ford uses to look up repair information when they work on customers cars.

If they want an actual reference, tell them you found it in the ford service manual, Mustang, section 303-14: Electronic Engine Controls.

There are two clutch pedal switches; one for starter inhibit, the other to kill the cruise control. Automatic transmission cars have jumpers plugged into both connectors. Perhaps someone has plugged a jumper into yours.
Both switches are mounted on the pedal arm assembly near the top . Wire colors for the cruise control cutoff switch are both light green, and for the starter inhibit (CPP), Red/blue stripe and White/pink stripe.

when i got the c/c on and i push the clutch in (real fast) it revs up for like .5 of a sec about 200 rpms higher than what i was crus'en at and bam it turns off. if i just touch it barley it turns off. just like the break pedel.

and if i get lazy and leave my foot on the cluth with enough pressure my c/c wont turn on.
