New SC manifold for 4.6 2V

You can get the head units off eBay for 400-600$ all day long, the heat exchanger lists for 400$ new from ford, and I forget what the intercooler costs, but it isnt too bad. The lines are under $100 and then you would just need an intercooler pump.

You would also need a fuel pump, injectors, and a tune.

So for around 2500-3000 dollars your could piece together a Eaton M110 kit and have loads of room for modifications.

I think the cobras have an m112. You can get a Fluidyne oversized heat exchanger for around $300 so I'd think you could probably pick up the stock ones on ebay pretty cheap from guys that are upgrading.

So they are now shipping the purplemustang intake and it STILL hasn't been on a dyno???

The Eaton intake looks like a good idea, you could prob make a full set up for around $2500. I wonder what the power would be at 9psi? 350?

350 is probably a good guess if the intake is good. Roush, and AED use m90 eatons and put down in the 330 range.

Anyone know where one may find pics of the P51 and Purple intakes?
Here's the P-51 on KenB's ride

And here is the PurpleMustang C-3

From my email discussions with Bob at HPS, I have a little background on the development of the 2v manifold. He told me he's a hot rodder at heart and the manifold was developed after work as they are building parts that keep the doors open during the day. HPS builds everything from military parts to lamp posts. He wants the finish up the 2v manifold and get it out on the market soon. Sounds sincere and upfront with me on where things are at. He also reads the boards here and sees the comments from the naysayers. Bottom line, he said it takes countless hours after work to get project like this going to this point. I think it's a credit that someone would try to put another product on the market for the 2V crowd that has limited choices to begin with. I know from designing componets for grain elevators and getting the tooling made up along with the patent work it's a lot of lonely hours and it takes a lot of grit to get done. So, anyone that likes to complain and thinks they can do it better, go for it. I've got 40k invested in tooling and it takes commitment to put your money where your mouth is.

Yes, I was hoping to put together a 9 psi system for 2000-3000 invested. That's why I started emailing HPS with ideas. For the guys that want kit systems that offer ease of installation and no issues, the KB's are great. For the do it yourselfer that likes to get into a project, this is an option we don't have right now.

I'm all for options guys. If KB 9 PSI was cheaper, I wouldn't bother. You can get Vortech or Procharger at discounted prices. Where can you get KB's at discount prices?

My two cents.

Okay, here is something that probably no one has thought of yet (but me).
I like the idea of having a S/C on my 2v. But, I don't have $4,000 laying around and I sure as heck don't want to put one on a credit card. I always find it easier to buy stuff in pieces as time goes by. With eBay being the valuable resource it is, this would be a very realistic option for me. I could buy a used Eaton off of eBay, then get the other nessesary parts when funds exist to come up with a nice little blown 2v.

Congradulations on being the first to think of this!!! I mean we NEVER get questions on this board like "If I buy a cobra supercharger on ebay, will it fit on my 2v motor":nice:

For those of you who are looking for a much cheaper alternative to the KB's and Vortech kits why not go with the Ford Racing supercharger ? I have seen it online for just under $2,200. It "requires" an install kit, but that is nothing more than a chip, injectors, and fuel pump. You can get barely used injectors (30lb) for under $200, a pump for cheap and many already have a tuner. So for about $2,500 you can be supercharged. HALF the cost of a KB. There was a thread on here where the guy installed one and 80-100whp through the powerband. Yeah, it's not a KB, and it doesn't have an intercooler yada, yada. If you want to increase the boost just had an alcohol injection kit for $300. A positive displacement blower like the Eaton is a blast to drive. Power and torque where you use it most, unlike the Vortech that is all in the top end. Just my .02.
P.S. And you don't have to worry about buying a $900 manifold and trying to get a Cobra blower to work.

install kit also comes with gaskets, and brackets/hardware etc..and it can't be pieced together seperately :notnice: I've already contacted a few ford parts specialists who suggest its worth it to shell out the 950-1050 for the install kit.

The only thing you REALLY need from the kit is the alternator bracket. I haven't figured out that part yet, maybe fab one somehow or find a part #. To save $900 I'll figure something out.

Just giving you a hard time, but you were the one that claimed to be the first one to think of it...
I understand that, but I didn't mean that I was the first to think of 2v blower swap, I was pointing out the benefit of buying stuff piece by piece and how this could help others.

PM greenfowsix and ask him what extras the kit had and for a pic of the alt bracket....that may help. oh and share the info if you get it... :D

Talk, talk, talk and they STILL aren't selling this manifold yet...now they say they "are caught up on all "pressing projects" and tooling for
the HPS intake is scheduled for four weeks from now. If all goes well
we will see manifolds in six weeks !"
I'll believe it when I see it. As their site also says, "It's about time" - yeah, it sure is...so where is your product? Been talking about it for at least 6 months.

:stupid: that pic has been floting around for forever. and yet, i have never seen actuaal products!!!

samething as purple racing one

At least the Purplemustang intake is shipping and appears to have more thought put into it than the OEM copy that HPS is going to sell......some day.

BUT ... with no dyno results this is useless. at least the reichard and p 51 can produce #'s. Do not buy the garbage if you cant afford a modo motor go pushrod.
