What about these heads?

Im considering aluminum gt-40X turbo swirls for my '94 Steeda. what do yall think? good, or bad experiences? they are on ebay brand new and assembled for $995. lemme know before i order them. thanks :flag:

That seams like a decent price. They are a better flowing head than the aluminum GT 40 (y303 i think), thats been on the forums alot for like $800. For a little more you could get some TFS or AFR's. I dont hear to many complaints on either of these and I like my Twisted wedges.
 
i got the y303's for 750 shipped.. they are the same thing as the x's but the x's are prted a little bit. they are great heads for the money. but i would have gone AFR's if the cash was there. but im getting my cobra intake and y303's ported, so they will be just as good as alot of stuff out there.

i was in a bind, i needed heads, and i needed them at that time. those were the cheapest alum. heads new that i could find.. and DAMMIT why do you have to sell that MAF Inj. combo for so cheap! i bout new 24 lbd inj, for 215$ and i dont even have a MAF... o well live and learn.
 
I bought my Take off y303's for $670 for the pair then spent $325 to port them.I spent another $25 to get before and after flow reports.So after all that about the same price as X303's and they flow as well as(out of the box/unported) X303's.The guys at Ford Racing suggested the ported y's might be better for my street only use because the Y's ports are smaller which they said was better for low end torque.Of course,if you are after all out performance and cost is not a factor a lot of people here go with AFR165's.
 
I got my Ys for 850 shipped fully ported and o-ringed, if you have some time to be patient, do it. FRPP heads are decent in stock form, but fully ported they're wicked. Look what thumper has been doing with E7s, and stock they're crap. Keep looking, you might find some nice ported aluminum heads for under a G
 
X heads are good heads...as stated above once ported on the exhaust side they are wicked...but really so is every head...the downfall is the price...they are pricey...I made 297/314 RWHP/RWTQ with those heads and a GT-40 intake...FTI cam...on a stock bottome end 302...I also busted a head gasket a week later just by driving to church...so I'm curious if at they dyno I was getting full compression...the price seems right...I say do it...hard to beat factory products.
