i knew when i got the panhard bar put on, that there was going to be problems with that an my exhaust i got SLP and i tried adding extentions to the exhaust but theres no stopping this nasty banging noise when the exhaust gets hot..soo i was thinking about buying heat wrap or tape and wrapping that around the parts of the exhaust where it looks like its hitting? Has this happened to anybody else before,, thanks guys i really appreciate all the help i can get!

Not sure what part is hitting on yours, but it sounds like the over the rear pipe to me. If that is the case then you probably need to take that section and add a 1" or so straight piece to the very top section of the curved section going over the rear end housing to clear the bar. If it's like mine, which hit the lower mounting bolt where the bar connects to the drivers side control arm then you need to cut about an 1" out of the tail pipe where it connects to the over the rear pipe to move it up and away from that bolt. I also removed the flat washer from the bar attachment bolt to help clearance on the bigger bumps and used locktite to help secure it.

damn man your car loos freakin great i wanted a mach 1 but i got my gt brand new for 20k so i couldnt turn down that deal....but yea so i dont know do you think heat wrap would work though?

****, haha damn it i want that banging to go away!!! you dont think heat wrap would work just so when the piping did bang it wouldnt be hitting metal on metal or whatever it hits?...

The wrap might work but if you can get it up in the air with weight on the rear wheels and see exactly where it is hitting, it's possible you could loosen it up where it connects to the mid pipe and just rotate it away from it.

thanks a lot ill see if i can get it on a lift and try that..haha and ill let u guys know if the heat wrap works..but yea hey hotrod ur mach 1 looks soooo cleann do u have wheel spacers on the rear by any chance??

Thanks msthmb13, the rears have no spacers, the wheels are 9" wide with a +15mm offset.
