I just read an article in Hot Rod magazine (December 05) about a Rotrex supercharger. The article said that it has the instant boost of a roots blower and the eff. of a turbocharger ~80%. Has anyone heard about this blower or have any other info. on it. It sounds like a great blower. They said the reason it has the qualities is the drive mechanism in the blower itself. It is basically a centrifugal blower and is belt driven, but instead of having a step-up ratio of 4.5:1 it is capable of ranges from 7.5:1 - 12.5:1. It uses a set of roller bearings instead of gearing to step-up the ratio. Basically is spins a lot faster, around 90,000 - 125,000 rpms.

Sounds interesting
