WOW! Those guys sell a ton of Mustangs! Apparently they don't show any orders yet from the weekend or this morning. But looks like they're only two people in front of you. I'll find more out as it's available.

Dyoct, thanks for the help. It does not surprise me that they sell a lot of mustangs there. They were very straightforward and accomodating when talking numbers, and they didnt have any rediculous 4k mark-up on the car like all of the other dealers in S.D. It seems that there methods of dealing w/ customers would be very conducive to high sales numbers. The sales manager said my car was ordered this morning so I'm not sure why it didnt pop up when you did a check. Also, I'm not sure what you mean when you say that there are only "two people in front of me." How did you find this info? Any info that you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Ordered mine June 8th of this year and still ain't seen hide nor hair of it yet. According to Ford it was scheduled to be built last week, but hasn't shown on the dealer's inventory, but the salesman told me this morning that they recieved the title last week and the car should be not too long behind it. ( but I've heard their song and dance before)

Just like every other market in Cali, the Mustang prices are on average much higher than the rest of the nation. I'm not sure if the GTs are still averaging over sticker, but I bet California was holding up those numbers. As for two people in front of you, I meant that there are two orders that haven't been scheduled to be built yet from last week. Just about every vehicle line right now is on hold for a Job #2 changeover so there will be a bit longer of a wait now.

Dyoct, so are you sayin the dealer is not accurate in his claim of 3-8 weeks? The imression he gave me was that since he put me on "priority" that 3 weeks is totally possible, yet there are guys here who have been waiting 3 or more monthes for their cars....how is that possible?

When I ordered my GT last year (10/20/04) my dealer said the car would arrive in 6 weeks, but with delays and parts shortages the wait turned out to be close to 9 weeks (drove the car home on 12/28/04).
On the other hand I've seen people that ordered around the same time I did taking delivery in March 05.
I think that it all depends on dealer allocation (how many Mustangs Ford sends to your dealer) and the number of orders in front of you.

Make sure that you get a copy of your DORA from the dealer that confirms that 1)Dealer submitted your order to Ford 2)the order is correct and 3)Priority Number...the lower the better. From what I've read 10 is the best number you can get, and 99 is the worst...99 basically means the car won't get built anytime soon.

Great I order my GT on July 9th delivered Sept27th Screeming Yellow. When
you get your Vin # Let me know what it is. I work at the ford Plant in Norfolk Va I can track it on the ford web.

As long as they didn't guaruntee it. Basically once they make the order for you it's out of their hands. There are a number of factors playing into when your vehicle gets built and a major chunk of it is allocation, but like I said these guys are blowing them out. Based on what you said on your dealings with them, then you will probably see a quick turnaround time.

Everyone and every vehicle order is on priority. It's a matter of where in line your order is. As many have said, 10 is the best the dealer can do for you, 80 is the worst. Then in between those two numbers is where they can assign you based on how many orders they've received before you. Ford can give you an 03, 02, 01 or...the ultimate 00. I've had the pleasure of 00ing units before, it basically says "PULL ALL STOPS, BUILD THIS UNIT NOW" :D I've also had the displeasure of 99ing a unit which means that it will not get built. So be nice to me... :p

As for the 3 month wait + it comes back to that allocation and what they ordered on their unit. Ie the 64W 18" wheels were recently released by the supplier, so thus if you placed an order for an 06 MGT, manual, with those wheels in June and in August somebody ordered an 06 MGT, manual with 17" wheels, the guy that ordered in August most likely got theirs first. Or you can have a dealer that has a bunch of GT orders waiting, say they're all waiting for manuals, but for the week there aren't any manuals left so the dealer gets a V6 order that they put out in the lot, before any other orders are built. It sucks, I know, but there's alot that plays into getting any car built.

Hey, Norfolk! You guys make F-Series right? :flag: Thank you sir for making our company's bread and butter. Do you have today off?

Dyoct and don mergi, I really appreciate you guys going out of your way to help me out. don mergi, when I get the VIN# I'll let ya know for sure. Dyoct, I'll put a call into my dealer ASAP and try to get that "DORA" info and see what my priority number is. I'll post it as soon as I find out, keep in touch. Later gentlemen.

Hey Dyoct, do you have the ability to see which dealers have a higher allocation? I have four dealers that all offered to order a car for me at invoice price so I don't know which to go with. They all say they have an allocation but haven't given me any specifics. Here are the dealers:

Meginnis Ford - Lincoln Nebraska
Atchley Ford - Omaha Nebraska
Lee Sapp Ford - Ashland Nebraska
Kastens Ford - Syracuse Nebraska

The last one is my local small town dealer. I'd prefer to order from him, but I'm guessing on of the others would give me a better chance of getting an order pulled a little quicker.

thanks!
