Is it possible for a 9 inch width wheel to fit properly on the front of my LX without any modifications? If so, what modifications are needed?

Originally a 4 cylinder (5.0 conversion car) the brakes have been replaced with stock gt brakes of the same year. I plan on using 225-235/40/17 for the front tires. My main concern is if there would be any rubbing between the the wheel and the strut housing. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Yes, they are 4 lug. I just had worries because while the LX was on jacks, the wheels came close to the shock housing. No contact, but close.

Offset: 20mm
Backspace: 5.95"

255/45-17's will fit on 9" wheels on the front of a Mustang with that backspace.

The tires size you are talking about will look totally wrong on a 9" wheel IMO. They will look way too narrow on the wheel.
