Alright I did a search but still dont know. I wanna get rid of my old weak alt and go with something thats gonna compliment all the new MSD ignition stuff I just put on. There's a huge jump in price between 100 and 130-140 amp alts, so I dont know is it worth it for a 140? I got my eye on this one , but it says its the 2g style case, which is and old design from what I hear. any help would be appreciated

The 3G is a better design IMHO.
I would do no less than 130 amps. Do it once and do it right - some folks have done 95 or 100 ampers only to need to upgrade later. IT all requires a wiring upgrade anyhow.

A search of Jrichker's alternator upgrade posts will reveal everything needed (including articles with pictures and text, the parts and a source). Simply put, you tap into the stock stator wire and run it to the new alt. And you run a new power cable in lieu of the stock dinky charge wires.jmd2914 said:
